Yah, no kidding! When I was last back in Singapore in '03, I dropped by the Barker Road campus out of nostalgia, and couldn't recognize any of the new buildings!Originally posted by Fatum:you know they got a spanking new campus at that site now ? ....
but then again, you should know it eh .... your school's "old boy" network spans the globe ...

wah.. but from ACS to swiss cottage is at least 400m walk rite?
how come ACS din have their own place for technical lessons?
btw, where's swiss cottage now ah?
Good question. I assume they just did not have the building space to set up workshops large enough to accommodate the required number of students.Originally posted by k4korny:wah.. but from ACS to swiss cottage is at least 400m walk rite?

Wah, so lucky.Originally posted by coffeeortea:only had one experience with auroras. =) simply breathtaking, with my family too.
sounds nice... wat sauce u add?Originally posted by littlestream:I dish up a new menu just now.
That HongKong noodle like ee mee? Stir fry with chye sim, oyster king mushrooms (taste like abalone), shrimps and eggs. Hmm....yummy. Nice.
Now, eat too much liao. Feel so bloated. Better go for a walk. But it is coming. Sun is setting at 6ish. Do you hear old man winter knocking on your door yet?
*makes a mental note to visit canada with nel only at this time of the year*Originally posted by Fatum:Auroras are the famed Northern Lights ! .... they are beautiful ....
in the northern hemisphere it's known as Aurora Borealis .... in the south it's known as Aurora Australis .....
On a cold clear winter night, auroras can sometimes be seen right in the city where i am .... I'd trot down to the river that bisects the city and just stand there staring at the night sky .....
Winter is bearing down fast .... I'll see if i can get some pictures this year and post it up ! ...
(Tip: Watching auroras should not be a group activity .... but a couple thingy ..... though i've always watched it alone ... )
ACS, an "elite" school? Well, I wouldn't quite go that far.Originally posted by littlestream:Alamak......malu only.

Yeap, I took a pic. Now waiting for hubby to send it to me. What did you have for dinner?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Sounds delicious... almost as delectable as Hoi Nam Kai Fan!
(Damn, I'm just making myself hungry again...)
Was there a hard freeze overnight in your area too? I had to turn on the furnace this morning for the first time this season. And we all know what natural gas prices are going to be like this winter, right?

Erm, I use chicken stock for the noodles to soak it up. Hence, it is not the tzi cha type, know? Dry ones and put lots of garlic.Originally posted by BrUtUs:sounds nice... wat sauce u add?
What??? 14 outside and you guys switched on the a/c???? Are you familiar with the concept of "opening the windows"????Originally posted by littlestream:Yeap, I took a pic. Now waiting for hubby to send it to me. What did you have for dinner?
No freeze. Still nice at 14. In fact, we slept with air conditioning last night. Yeap, natural gas price hike on CNN. Does it apply to us as well?
Hee hee...............Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:What??? 14 outside and you guys switched on the a/c???? Are you familiar with the concept of "opening the windows"????
I don't know if Canada will experience higher natural gas prices, since you guys actually export the stuff to the US. The frikkin' greedy utility companies are telling consumers here to prepare for a price increase of up to 70%. As if my heating bills from last winter weren't high enough already.
