and lip balm as well ! ....Originally posted by lwflee:Peopl with dry skin, moisturise! Bloody irritating when your skin develops minute cracks and you start getting a severe case of pins and needles.
this coming winter will be your first isn't it ? ....Originally posted by ben1406:ahh.. just got my new timberland boots !
yeah it will be my 1st in canada. Had winter holidays before though..Originally posted by Fatum:this coming winter will be your first isn't it ? ....
you will be so sick of snow in a few months time ....
You wore tracksuits to school? Add a hoodie and you would be called a chav!Originally posted by Kuali Baba:I was going to mention the lip balm and moisturiser Personally I found track suits very useful, in winter I used that alone to clothe my legs and nothing else. Beanies are stylish, and thick socks will reduce the condensation even if you're wearing running shoes.
haha... thats not as bad as wind + snow! that feeling is bad... i was walking home with my frens after a grocery trip n have to endure all that...Originally posted by ben1406:yeah it will be my 1st in canada. Had winter holidays before though..

For a list that supposedly contains what one 'REALLY' needs, the absence of one item is conspicuous. You need someone to cuddle up to during the long, dark and cold winter nights!Originally posted by Miaka:Here is a list of what you REALLY need when you're in a cold country.

If that cannot be achieved (and i'm speaking from experience here), a really really thick duvet would do as well.
Huh? Errr.......pai seh hor........which country/city??? Not here in Toronto.Originally posted by Miaka:-Umbrella. I am serious. No no. Not for raining. It's for snow and wind. Sometimes during winter, the wind is strong and it pierces your face. Bring an umbrella.
Orrrr..........Vancouver. The joke is.....oh dear, I'm gonna get shot by the Vancouverites. Okay, my lips are sealed. They are sister city so I shouldn't say anything negative.Originally posted by Miaka:I been to Vancouver but not to Toronto. so i don't know how it is there. But it's just for in case also lah. If rain also can use umbrella rite!
I'll go against the grain here and say that thermal underwear (aka 'Long Johns') aren't necessary if you dress in layers. Warm air is trapped between the multiple layers of clothing and do a better job of insulating you than just wearing, say, a heavy winter jacket over your regular clothes.Originally posted by Miaka:-Long John!
You're kidding, right? An umbrella in winter?

Gloves are a given, unless you want to experience the joys of cracked skin on the palm of your hands.Originally posted by Miaka:That is why I included gloves. Umbrellas are used only when sometimes people don't wear hood-ed coats. Not everyone wears hooded coats all winter.
Actually, I replied to one of your posts today in Night Owls.Originally posted by littlestream:Hey, MG........fancy meeting you here. I thought you were busy as I didn't see you check in at night owls.
Like you, I don't or never use thermal wear. Actually, I don't dress in layers. The usual office suit followed by my down filled Eddie Bauer coat or jacket.
