just discovered:
London - end of northern line on the tube : edgware station. have to take a bus that leads u to oriental city.... (heard that it used to be yaohan. then it ran out of business)
there is a food court there which is truly southeast asia.... finally found the freshly made roti prata (roti cenai)... oso got teh tarik... of cos expensive as compared to home.... but then, my craving for roti prata is solved!!!.... so happy!!!

recently bought a laksa 'sauce' from a local supermarket... produced in m'sia.... tried to cook it... piang.... damn disappointed... *sigh* think i expecting too much liaoz......

Prima taste is good. Very good. Especially the laksa. I like the mee siam and mee rebus too.

spring is finally coming!!! yeah! can hear birdsong in the morning.... i usually walk through a park to get to work in the morning.... nowadays, the air is fresh after a rainy night..... and the birds happily chirping.... such a great feeling.... i slowly stroll to work... then tell my boss that i a bit late cos i stopped to hear the birds! ha... he nearly peng sang.... but then i not too late lah.... here, people laggi jia lat..... i normally one of the earliest to reach office at zun zun 9am....

the paratha is the version from the indian subcontinent ... it's usually thicker, cos they eat it like bread .... so look for P-R-A-T-A if you can ...

Had to make something "local" in class but with duck.. here's my version of our roasted duck rice back home in sg.. Served with my own sambal, roasted garlic sauce, rice pilaf with shiitake mushrooms & a grilled veg tower. a lil fusion does the work.

Okay, wanna share this brand, Uncle Sun, from M'sia.
The curry paste and seafood paste are better than Prima's (IMO). I've not tried their fish paste. The supermart do not carry them. The sambal udang in the bottle? Sedap sekali!!! I use it for dry noodles. A tad like mee pok tah at the hawker centres.

And then, there is the chicken rice mix. This is posted specially for MG.
I've not tried theirs 'cos friends raved about Kee's which I have tried. It's good although I still add the chicken oil that derived from cooking the chicken.
I guess one could do a speedy gonzales. Cook the rice with the mix and then just boil some thighs, legs or wings. That is if you don't like white meat. BTW, I only eat white meat.

This chilli sauce is a MUST when serving Hainanese chicken rice. It used to be easily available but recently I panic when I can't find it at six different supermarkets.
Last evening, I found it and bought three bottles.
And grab three bottles of this satay sauce too. It's good.
