I'm inspired by all you guys' experiences and trials.Originally posted by littlestream:Congrats sacredspirits. And give yourself a pat. Dare to venture. You won't know till you try, right? The world is getting so small (global). Enjoy your experience. Will definitely enrich your life and make it colourful.
After all, it is living a life that counts and not how long we live it, right?

seems like canada is a nice place to settle... hows the immigration law like? easy to get work permit?Originally posted by littlestream:Go for it, LazerLordz. Go with an open mind. Give yourself a chance and give the country of residence a chance too.
My first two years were a struggle for me. I've been so spoilt in Sg, I guess with the convenience. There were adjustments and surprisingly, although I was young, I was not so receptive to the changes. Maybe I am really very tng lang. But then came a matter of getting use to it. Then, everything fall into place.
I was blessed. Other than my own personal struggles, other facets of my life in Canada has been very smooth.
I've got friends who were successful in their careers back in either S'pore or M'sia, but even after living here for 16-17 years, their career in Canada never took off. But I've got friends who within a month of landing in Toronto, secured high paying jobs with successful companies.
So, it is really an individual thing. Obviously, on one hand, we can say we ask God for His guidance if indeed this is the path for you. But on the other hand, we can also say, fate.
For me, I'll say "Just do it" otherwise you'll never know.
Good luck with your plans, LL and I have a feeling you'll be alright!
Yeap. Canada is friendly and comfortable. Most if not all residents from our part of the world assimilate quickly and easily. Feels very at home. The major thing to content with is the cold. Can be brutal sometimes. However, depending on which Province you choose to live in. British Columbia, by far has the mildest winter but it rains alot though.Originally posted by BrUtUs:seems like canada is a nice place to settle... hows the immigration law like? easy to get work permit?
