Stomper Chiang, who specifically times his commute to avoid ERP gantries was still charged even though it was before 7 am.
The Stomper was driving along the CTE and passed the ERP gantry before Braddell Rd at around 6.55 am with no deduction, but two minutes later, he reached another gantry.
Even though it was before ERP operating hours, and the gantry was not in operation, $1.00 was still deducted from his cash card.
Chiang expressed his concerns on how well the ERP gantries are monitored, as if it happens to even more people, it could be more than just one dollar in question.
He later called the LTA about this, and says that they are now investigating the matter.
The Stomper said:
"Firstly it's a bit questionable, how can you be sure that they are deducting the right amount each time you go through the ERP?
"The trouble you have to go through to get the money back is ridiculous.
"Even if they just deduct 50 cents, the principle of it is still not right."

What is there to complain? It’s not like he passed through the gantry at 4am and he got charged. Since it’s so near to ERP operation time, he should have guessed that.
Epic fail.

Agreed. Probably user clock not sync.
But nevertheless, think he raised a valid point; there needs to be some way to find out whether money was correctly deducted at which gantry and at what time. Is there historical records where one can access those information?

i believe LTA system can do that.
last time i remembered if they wrongly deduct u, you will get the amount back plus a free $10 cashcard
i kena this kind of situation before:
cashcard in IU, drove pass 2 erp gantries on the same day but both no deduct, but go carpark no problem, dont know whose fault is it. lol
and still have to lan lan pay the fine -.-
anyone encounter such thing before?
u shd write in and appeal
thought of writing in to appeal but that car was actualy rental and the rental company say appeal very troublesome, need to rent car again to go viscom for inspection etc etc, take very long, time-consuming etc etc.
though i dont know if what they say is true or not but was thinking since it is only $10 and no demerit points, aiya suah, just give lol! just not happy got "punished" for nothing lol
their IU got problem then they shd pay the fine loh
but go carpark no problem leh
at least they are investigating ... & considering
Get to one of the IU checking centre to verify, if IU working then U have a case to appeal
