Hi guys I was driving along Choa Chu Kang Drive towards YewTee with my friend and a rider about two hours ago. The lights went red so I stopped at the junction opposite CCK park.
After awhile, the junction ahead turned green but I misjudge and thought my junction turned green. I only realise after my friends in the car told me it was a red light. I look into my rear view mirror and realise it was true as all other motorist including my friend which ride a motorbike stayput. I quickily pull over to the bus stop ahead.
I notice there is J-eyes camera at the junction. I wonder if the owner of the car will receive summon... If he does it would mean it is either me or the owner liable for the offence right? And is there any ways to appeal as I had no intentions to beat red light?
Note: I am a probation driver and it is not my car
gov giving money this month. use that to pay
I'm more worried for demerit points... Would I get revoked?
my guess is probably not. never heard of such enforement using the overhead cam.
that aside, this junction has a couple of fatal accidents over the past 2 years.
stay safe and alert.
thanks man :)
If there is reason that the road system failed you, you may want to raise this to the land transport authority or the traffic police, so that they can look into this, and possibly makechanges. It might save others from the same unintentional and possibly dangerous mistake.
Take care.
