  How to get the best value from a COE-expiring car?

  I like to check with you guys on how to get the best returns on a COE-expiring car.

  1. Scrap the car with LTA - get back the PARF value of car

  2. Sell it to scrap dealer, can get back the PARF + body of car. Better option.

  3. Trade-in for new/resale car. The value is probably the same as in option (2).

  How do I protect myself for options (2) and (3), eg if I had transferred the car and obtained a cheque that bounced.
