hello all. as you all would know, i am studying still (no it's not to be confused with ris low's line).
tmr i start my internship/industrial attachment. would it appear "a bit of showing off" to drive to work tmr?
1. if i drive. at least i show them that i drive and require a parking lot. besides, passing by the area, i do see they have a lot of lots.
2. if i take public and ask for a lot. they'll think i dont really need to drive actually? and would just shrug me off and say no driving?
if no driving is allowed, my dad would be paying 8months(MayDec) of car loan for... nothing.
my other partner working at the same place tmr is riding a bike to the venue. the friends i have are divided. some say i should drive. some say i should enquire abt driving tmr 1st.
i am only trying to get more inputs from all of you so that i can decide proper.. so what's your advice peeps?
You should drive. I don't see a problem. Its not like you're a permanent employee.
My colleagues refrain from buying bigger cars even though affording one is easy peasy, because of gossip if you drive a larger car than your boss you know what i mean. Luckily he drives a bmw.

that is correct... never drive a bigger car than your boss... if not... your life will be miserable...
for eg - your boss car (left).. yours (right)
some small cars available -
okay lah.. guess i'll drive tmr. hopefully no issues.
first day just experiment driving lor
don't be late can liaos
first day >> take public transport. show people you r humble. modest
if its those office buildings, lunch time, go ask around for carpark facilities.. some places only for season parking, and season means 3-6 months one shot. some even need to ballot
you park at visitor parking.. one day cost $10 roughly right....
then maybe 3rd day liao... then drive lo..
not much issues if place is those industrial factories... plenty of space n free parking

The problem with driving is more than that. Suppose your supervisor lived in the same place as you are... then are you going to drive him home too?
If you are offering him a ride, then are you looking down on him?
If he wans a ride, you wan to obligate to ride him home everyday?
....
So to avoid all the unnecessary problem, dont drive first.
first day take public transport..
please drive to work
it'll be funny if your boss drives a bmw/benz while you're driving a lamborghini or an audi.
This is how reality works

the most imperative of all, seek a win-win agreement if your colleagues/supervisor want to take your car. Main thing is that they should not be in your way of travelling home and such. [顺路, aka convenient for u]
i drove to my attachment location this morning. even picked up my friend who cant ride his bike due to the rain. there were no issues at all. in fact, decal for me soon!
OMG, your attachment is so near your place!
But yeah, usually if the place has ample parking space, I think driving there is not an issue.
