hello everyone.
today at 0550hrs CTE(SLE) direction aft PIE slip rd entry, before Braddell Rd exit, i was involved in an RTA.
a motorcyclist left his BLACK motorcycle unattended on lane 4 on the 5-lane CTE. no hazard light(it's a 2A bike). rider was on shoulder, i realised.
i swerved upon seeing the bike, unfortunately spun, hit the concrete barrier on shoulder twice before coming to a stop on lane 4. i also hit his friend's bike which was parked beside the concrete barrier 10 metres ahead, also no hazard light. damages to my car and friend's bike. no damages to black motorcycle. his friend was also on road shoulder with him, doing zilch.
friend insisted that the black motorcycle was "on fire". there was NO fire. got aggressive. told him, "nvm wait for police." two bengkias on CBR400.
i was having a slow drive to send my gf to her hougang home on lane 4 at 80km/h. a friend w/ his gf was behind my car on a motorcycle enroute to woodlands. he saw me spun and could brake in time & avoid.
a taxi came some 8mins l8r and looked for driver of car, that would be me. he told me that he was infront of me by some 70metres. he too swerved to avoid the bike & saw me spinning out on his rear view mirror. felt it was negligent on part of the rider. willing to be my witness and gave particulars to me and police.
now my car is parked outside the workshop. i think it's closed today. just have to play the waiting game. oh and the best part...
i drove my damaged car slowly to the workshop. the "supposedly on fire" bike was working perfectly fine as the rider rode it and left the accident scene.
what is with the motorcyclist and his motorcycle?
i am glad everyone's fine. my gf's fine, though shocked. but it goes to show that you can be one careful driver, even not speeding and keeping to left of expway but all it takes is just one negligent motorist to send my insurance skyhigh. quite pissed actually.
hope you're ok..
anyway did TP activate ambulance..

1 PL, 1 LF, 2 FB for the supposingly "bike on fire"

still pissed with the motorcyclist who just leave bike in the middle of expressway and slack at shoulder.

most importantly u're ok..
so now it's back to using public tpt liao loh..

nothing much U can do except claim the hell out of the rider. He was at road shoulder and his bike is in lane 4...bike on fire?If SCDF is not supporting his story...I think U sure win one lor...
but then hor...I have seen cars doing similar stupid things too...so its an individual issue...not a car/bike issue...
i think i seen the person before...he got play a similar stunt at ECP Xilin Ave exit....hmmmm

middle of expressway at 5.50am. black. unattended.. is totally unexpected and too late to avoid already..
You were supposed to hit the black bike, instead you hit the transportation bike.
You hit the rear of the black bike you in the wrong. The bengkia can claim against you.
Better report to IDAC to cover yourself. Giving the full detail exactly, including the taxi driver particulars. Because the stand-by bike will claim against you. You must have hit its rear.

yup. i didnt wanna hit the stationary black bike. othercase i kena jialat2. but unfortunately, spun. now is the bengkia friend wanna claim against me coz' he park at the side. i hit concrete barrier hit his bike also mah. i am confused why breathalyzer test not done on the two of them?
i will give explicit details with pictures attached. one will be given for you all to see and decipher the scene.
exactly how it was parked.. this is the bike "on fire". can you see the flames and smoke? i didnt even smell a thing. the firemen came, see see look look & left. after everything, this bike was ridden off by the rider.
actually can report police.
Creating fake accidents, wasting SCDF resources meant for real accidents/ incidents.

i went to the police post at 5pm.
only SG-registered vehicles involved, no injury requiring ambulance despatch to hospital, no need police report. only report to insurance.

They can investigate.
Sounds like an fake accident to claim insurance.

Could be you are reporting a RTA they by reflex action tai chi you.
You could have reported an endangerment or a reckless act along the expressway.
But you could go to e insurance co to file an additional report of wat u spotted and statements of things like 'fire'.
Because I dunno how much $$ has been lost to such fake/ delibrate accident claims.
i dont get how he parked his bike like that in such a manner on an expressway.......
... and after everything, ride off on it, go home as per normal?!
That is a definite deliberate set up. Since its wee hours of the morning, traffic is light, setting up is no issue, just waiting for unsuspecting people to whack his bike, gang up with workshop and claim claim claim.
Should also keep pressing the horn to alert others motorists to attract the attention.. No camera at that location?

traffic was light. very light. i was on lane 4... the last lane that could go str8 approaching braddell exit having a slow drive home with a friend behind on a motorcycle.. tsk!
going to workshop at 9am... will bring pictures printed & in thumbdrive.
Just make sure you provide all details and pictures when you make your claim. So if those guys try to claim through their insurance, your insurance company will put in extra effort to ignore their ridiculous claims.
Good thing you did not hit the black bike, because that is what they wanted, kind of screwed up their plans a little.
