Beach Volleyball

  Recently I picked up this new sport with my friends. We have been going to Sentosa weekly to swim, tan and play volleyball.
  
  We were thinking of buying a volleyball, but there are several brands out there and the prices differ greatly as well.
  
  Lesser known brands of volleyballs cost around $20,
  
  A Spalding volleyball cost between $20-30,
  
  A Mikasa volleyball cost between $40-60.
  
  Any volleyball player can advise on which brand of volleyball is more durable and value for money? By the way, the Mikasa beach volleyballs are really soft and nice to hit.

  yes, get the mikasa.
  
  but do be careful on what kinda volleyballs you r buying.some are for indoors while some out doors while at the same time beach.
  
  beach v-balls tend to be bigger and heavier. while indoor balls are harder,smaller and lighter. i hardly see any outdoors balls anymore as v-ball are mostly played indoors now.

  Yup the beach volleyballs seem to be more colourful and feels softer than the normal volleyballs.
  
  The Mikasa ones cost double the price of the Spalding ones, which is the factor that is holding me back from buying it.

  Well if you're going to sentosa to play for fun, just buy a cheap one...
  
  its like football players aren't gonna buy the world cup standard ball just to play street soccer.

  Mikasa is not bad.. but u can try mizuno too.. it's better to get a bal dats softer.. spalding too hard so u wont feel like playing it for long.. ur hands will start to hurt.. eventually it might even make u resist playing to prevent hurting ur hands.. the money can be shared among ur frens so it wont cost so much per person.. just some suggestions

  Yup the Mizuno one costs 'bout the same as the Mikasa one too... Yup my hands hurt after playing awhile with the Spalding one.

  Ok we've decided to limit our budget to $40. So should we get the Mizuno or Mikasa one?

  if u wanna get wilson u look for "Soft Touch" on the ball
  
  if not dun bother too..... i mean u gotta feel it urself
  
  press the ball and see if it sinks in without deflating the ball. if it sinks in compressing the air means it's too hard without a cushion.however if u can press the cushion of the ball yet it doens't deflates and get out of touch, i think it shd be pretty good.
  
  if taking mikasa or mizuno, i think mikasa makes better balls. mizuno u go for their shoes.
