Downside to buying a Motorola phone.

While I've got nothing against Motorola, I don't think I'd buy another of its phones. Here are the reasons why:
1.) The price of their phones depreciates very fast.
2.) SMS interface is rather laggy, even without the dictionary on.
3.) Not as user-friendly as compared to other phones, you need to read the manual to learn how to use it.
4.) Older models have the answer call button on the right, and the hang up button on the left, which is different from most of the other phones.
5.) Batteries' life span is rather short, and they take up to 3 hours to be fully charged.
6.) Housing for flip-phone models costs around $100 for replacement.
7.) Non-Symbian OS phones which are Java-enabled can't play common Java games which most other Java-enabled phones can.
8.) Workers who handle the phones sometimes knock the phones on the table to remove batteries that are hard to 'pluck' out. Imagine using a 3G phone, say E1000 like a tool to smash crab shell when you're eating it =P

Indeed the batt need a long time to charge but the display is much better than nokia phones

That depends on what model it is then... Definitely the latest phones are not bad. Motorola's new 3G phones are leading, but their older models cannot be compared to rival brands.

Hey hey, i totally agree that motorola is really a NO-NO phone...
Please think twice if you are thinking of getting one..
I had a really bad experience with the service centre at plaza sing. Once, i got some problems with my motorola phone, so I went down for repair. After i collected it the next day, I realised that the problems were not solved. So, I went again, and the person said since the faults were not properly repaired, we intend to give you another NEW phone.
Of cos, I thought that was a really good gesture of them. But to my shock and horror, after collecting the so call "NEW" phone, i realised that it is an old phone actually. It had stored SMSes, pictures that were not mine, and the vibration mode is not working. So, how can it be a new phone?
I felt so cheated!!
So, u really want to get a motorola phone?... do think twice... -

Hmn maybe they did say they would replace your phone, but not a brand new phone? A phone that has been used for 1 week can still be considered new, depending on its condition. Agree? But true, I'd be pissed off with them if I was you... What model was it anyway?

In the end, i wrote to motorola hq to complain about the matter.
They said they are willing make another exchange, and this time, they will make sure it is a new phone. But, i refused the offer, cos I am sure they will give me another old phone and telling me it is new again..
Then I told them I'll write to the papers and complain this to CASE. So, they offered me another solution to buy back my phone at the market price, which I eventually accepted the offer...
case closed. never will I buy a motorola phone again....

Like the T9, sms is nto difficult..predictive text helps.
the melodies..loud and nice.
Camera is clearer than nokia or Sony Ericsson.
Battery is not hard to take out. Use your brains, hit handphone against table? must be crazy..
I like the screen..big enough for me.
Charge for 3 hours? Not that long..I think at the most is 2 hours. -

E365's battery is easy to be removed, that's why 'handphone against table' is not needed. I gave Motorola a chance recently after using Nokia 3310 for years. Now, I am back to Nokia 3310. says alot of them.
