gotta hand it to the self-serving bastards that is senior management to twist something noble...

so.. our organisation has decided to "adopt" a charity.. a great cause actually.. EIPIC.. or Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Young Children.. to help children with special needs... like those with cerebal palsy, disabilities and stuff.. and help them out..
good isn't it?
but trust the blasted management to twist this..
the decision to adopt was not to help out a worthy cause.. rather, it was a prerequisite to attain the stupid SQA award.. a less-than-useless award which will serve to be more detrimental to the organisation than anything...
well, nevermind then.. any charity for the kiddies right?
then the blasted senior management decides to spread this around... and the boss of my location goes nuts... now he's practically FORCING people to "donate voluntarily".. and he's even set amounts as targets and have made us "donate that amount"..
oh well.. i'm no lemming.. and neither is the team..
see how in the next few days -

if they came and asked: would you donate? most would readily do so...
if they came and asked: would your team help out? we would...
but they came and forced it on us.. it leaves a bitter taste in our mouths no matter what we do...
if we gave or helped out, we'd be toeing the line and bowing to the demands of the senior management idiots
if we did not give or help out, we'll not be helping the kiddies and frankly, most of us want to..
