So this is a conspiracy within a conspiracy?
The govt knows it bad but let it run so that they can have a good image and the MLMers know that bcos of the govt they can 'lie' to us? -

Network Marketing has already been proven to work in the West. For Singapore, it is simply a matter of time before the negativity and obnoxious views associated with it is banished.

If you think flaming abt MLM and you will put yourself and your business in the victimised perspective. I believe that is unecessary here. Aparts from that, I hope to remind you that i want justification.
And it's really appaling and naive to justify something just because the West has it. The West have a nuclear arsenal to murder and threaten the world 10 times over. Does that justify everyone to hold nuclear reserves? Think. justify, reason. Don't claim. -

c'mon.. more than once, we've asked how it works and how come it can work well, and all we get is this?
at least nelstar in another thread tried to explain..
however, it does not explain how come it works that everyone benefits?

my friends in this MLM company called asayo are in deep trouble. They are facing lots of lawsuits for cheating ppl's money and trasferring to their own account. it's a matter of time b4 u will see the reports in the newpaper

You don't learn much about history, do you? It always repeats itself because we fail to study it. We look, but do not observe. It's rather irrelevant of you to bring in a military example to support your paragraph. It doesn't make much sense. You would be better off using a business example for verification.
Instead of waiting for others here to provide you with the relevant information, why don't you look it up yourself and share it here? Afterall, isn't this a thread about finding out why people believe or not believe in network marketing?
Besides, don't you think your signature is rather ironic in terms of this thread here? I suspect network marketing is somewhere between the being laughed at and listened at phase.

me a believer and not only i believe MLM can succeed i believe any sales line can succeed. IS network marketing = selling? yeah, ur plans and ur products. When insurance 1st came to sg, ppl are skeptical abt it...who benifit? those who believe in it right? francise too, all believe it was a scam, was it? no. other mlm company have car achievers, are the ppl there succeessful yeah, so y u guys say its a scam? like all company, there are black sheeps. when ppl fail they say the system dont work, but did they question themself? nope...ppl live life buming ard, and when frenz say "eee, cant make it de lar" u will think u cant...are u living for them? look at ur frenz, they succeed in life? if they tried and fail or worse din try at all, am i right to say they are not qualified to advice? -

already i have asked sincerely, how does MLM work with each subsequent level feeding the level above them... how does the "customer" gain and how does the guy at the bottom of the pile earn... no answer either...
and in EVERY bit of literature i have read about MLM, they have fudged, avoided and ignored this question...
so, to your "spoon feeding" thing, i have tried to find out.. and people like you have stonewalled me...

I will ans ur question. in every company, they are running a praymid sys. the top is the CEO, then is management then the 3rd lvl will be middle management and bottom will be the clerks or staff...so my question is who earn the highest? the top right? and who contribute to the top? bottom right? same in network marketing, why the bottom have to feed the top...ans is simple, they are there to learn. the top have the knowledge to pass down to others who in turn pass down to others...is it justified that i teach u and u teach ur fren and i get paid? i indirectly teach ur fren. i spend time teachin u so u can be better and teaching others. is that justified? in network marketing, u are paid to help ppl.and the pay u get is = to how gd u are. if u work, u are paid juz $X amount no matter how gd u are. justified? i dont think so. ps; take note here...networkmarketing is totally diff frm praymid selling...coz pramid scheme is a scam...if u are getting commission for a recruit, or u cant see or hold the products, mostlikly a scam..... -

how many levels can the whole organisation handle then?
organisations with too many layers collapse eventually on their own weight... in a MLM, in order to "sit back, collect money" they need to recruit more people.... which causes even more recruitment...

What muz happen will happen, she fully believes in it, i remain skeptical but open..She told me it helped her..I told her "Your life is yours, there is no charity given and no one helps you, you just have to help yourself or die." Oh well, this concludes our tumultous relationship..
She fell sick 2 weeks ago from all the clubbing she had with her team, ended in the hospital..Cool huh?!?! I dont care..Thanx for asking anyway..

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has enhanced the safeguards on MLM schemes operating in Singapore, with the aim of protecting Singaporean consumers. The revised Multi-Level Marketing and Pyramid Selling (MLM) (Excluded Schemes and Arrangements) Order (MLM Exclusion Order for short) will take effect from 01 January 2002.
The Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) and Pyramid Selling (MLM) (Prohibition) Act (the MLM Act for short) was enacted in 1973 to protect consumers against harmful pyramid schemes. An illegal pyramid scheme will typically require participants to pay hefty upfront charges. In turn, the participants are promised attractive financial rewards for each additional participant recruited, as well as for all new participants brought in by their recruitees. As more salespersons are recruited, participants hope to recover their upfront charges and earn sizeable profits. Consequently, such pyramid-like structures will eventually run out of new recruits and collapse, resulting in those salespersons at the bottom of the pyramid losing all their upfront charges. Illegitimate MLM schemes usually share the following characteristics:
Promoters hype about how easy it is to earn money, that people can get very rich in a very short time and that the way to earn money is by recruiting others to join the scheme;
The commodity in question is not something one would normally buy at its price;
Participants are required to invest money into the scheme, whether in the form of a joining fee or buying inventory.
