how much would you pay to have someone come to your place or office to service or repair your computer?
heard some of those advertised on the straits times with cheap servicing fee are actually cons. heard they cannot be contacted after being paid after the user found out the problem wasn't properly solved.

depends on the extent of damage done. i do it for free for most of my pals for others usu ~100 to 200 dollars (cut throat prices)
DO NOT settle for above $100

best thing is to get some IT-friend to go and repair your pc
lotsa people out there charge high prices when doing pc repair. u even have to pay a minimum fee even when nothing is done.

would u pay $50 for an on-site job done within 2hrs? if the servicing personnel knows his work and experienced, is an hourly rate of $50 or $50 per problem reasonable? if free service, how the servicing guy survive? I think Challenger charges $60 to $80 per on-site visit and weekends cost more.
how many ppl would actually knows how to disconnect the pc and especially the ladies may struggle try to carry the system unit.
seems like most of the servicing technician are not familiar with software issues and don't have the skill to tackle it. the most they format the hard disk and wipe out everything. maybe don't even know how to remove virus, spyware, backup data?
