so...........what's the latest in town ?
which company promising the sun and the moon but only the boss and his inner circle will win while the multitude lose...............LOL
no idea. received a lot of calls from mlm companies recently...from eunos and clark quay. the clark quay one i tot is real job. cb, kena conned. i ask "is it mlm?"...the joker said no. den i go down its ENYOUTH. CB. DIRECT SALES. wads the diff??? now they call is SLM: Single Line Marketing. ok their tactic quite similar to other ppls experience.
1. "Friend" offers to pick you up at MRT station. Why ah? all of them always offer to meet at mrt station.
2. Brings u to some kopitiam. Talk cock with you non-stop, nothing related to work. I was actually very unamused and sensed sth was wrong then. I asked him about the job, he said later his manager will tell me more. 2nd warning sign.
3. Suddenly his manager, some chiobu, pops by coincidentally. But before that he was SMSing away. So she comes and talks a bit more cock. But this girl, who is only 26 didn't talk much cock with me. I think she knows I've seen enough to not be so stupid. I'm 24 btw. Her bottomline was : Listen with an open mind den see if you like or not. Nobody will force you. (I really appreciated that part, and this was a confirmation it was MLM)
4. Finish drink, we go up to the office. Cheapo i'd say. Tour you ard the cheapo place, show you their achievements, achievers with new cars, tell you how successful they are. the same usual shit. damn sian. i been thru this when i was 17, 22, and now 24. =) wonderful. and they nv change tactics, just use different names.
5. Then a Divisional Manager will come and talk to you. Tell you that working this job is great. Great monetary benefits. Den tell you her/his life story. Sian. Same shit, different company. I think this tactic can only cheat kids.
6, When its done, they will bring u to their famous kopitiam downstairs, tell u more abt products. and nearby a row of flashy cars are parked and they tell u those cars belong to so n so manager....den get u to meet some of the higher ups. oh wtf. boring...
comments: they are stupid people. they treat their higher ups like GODS. buy drinks, bow, every stupid thing their managers say they respond with "dui, yes, correct, right". like hitler's fools. sad. its so stupid. all mlm companies always tell us to STAND UP when their manager or whatever big shot comes in. WTF man...i know mlm can make a lot of money. if u haf the contacts. but for there to be kings and princes, there must be fools and the unsuccessful commoners. if u can make it UP there to the royal family, i'd say to you "join lor"...note the lor. if not, dun be someone else's dog. i asked the "fren" who brought me there: if i join u guys, must i do those dog-like things too? he had nothing to say.
Why even bother about them?
i believe this thread is to keep ppl aware? and poke fun too. haha! damn it man...i tried so hard to go in with an open mind. but the puzzle just wldn't fit. oh and i notice, the higher ups will haf some sort of success stories like bankrupt 3 times, den finally succeeded. the mid level wld be like family no money etc den finally now drive BMW 5 series, or quit job from bank, left SMU/NUS/NTU to work there fulltime. ya know? rags to riches stories? yeah, the fairy tales that get ppl hooked to dramas. =) im from media, and i write scripts.

to date, she has yet to even call me down..i guess she let her upline see my social profile before contacting..
if you guys have being reading newspapers, you should have come across a straits time news article that play down on magnetic therapy and the mattress.
why not you intro the gal who give u that appt and refer to me la, i go down with you, show them the article and lets see their reactions..how about that?
>>i'm referrring both companies also can since they both are in magnetic therapy..lol..
either way, i being down to the companies couple of times already. just happy to keep myself updated. =p
now they combine MLM with franchise some more................those that deal with one-off purchases no point lah...........if recurring sales like healthfood, etc at least eventually you can break even or make some profit.
normally the inner circle make most of the money and they then buy BMW, etc etc to entice newcomers........they like to target the young people too............
i once read an American article on MLM that shows only the top 15 percent makes a lot of money, about 60-70 percent lose money while the rest break even...........
in S'pore very very hard to make money unless you know these MLM insiders so you can be one of them, not like in US where a nobody can be successful.
Join me buy Aztech la...
Few days from 0.23 to 0.25 liao... 7% dividend yield in the long run somemore...
scared leh.............after i buy liao and then you offload all your shares, i mah si.............maybe you're the biggest Aztech shareholder leh ?
LOL

since you have laid out the satistics, than why not compare network marketing to traditional business.
Business has a failure rate of 95% over a period of 10yrs and the losses are way much more than such network marketing companies. (correct me if i'm wrong)

if it's a good established MLM company based on RECURRING sales like healthfood, etc etc, it's okay.................especially in a big country with a big population..........
if it's a short-term MLM scheme involving one-off purchases of ''god knows what'' then it's obviously just a shell game..............then that's another thing, especially in a small country with a small population............this kind of companies always like to disguise their shell game by re-branding it as a ''business' or ''franchise''..................
anyway, it the money involved is not too large, can give it a try....................at least the odds are still way ahead of Toto...........
Perhaps there's still some confusion in scam, mlm, network marketing/business.
MLM is Network marketing which is business.
No such thing as good/bad mlm buisness. It is a system that is used to run the business.
Example Macdonalds is using a Franchise System, that is Franchise is what we all call as Franchise. It is also a system which Network Marketing companies used.
As for short term/bad Network Marketing scheme, it is identical to insurance, financial and lawyers who have ill intentions who run off with either company's or clients' money.
As for the word "try", that's the problem and key cause why people who do Network MArketing Companies mostly say it is a scam, because they treat it like a cheap employment and not a business, thus people try for play play and is not serious, thus 95% of people in network marketing failed by the 3rd year of doing network marketing business or they leave for personal reasons.
As for Scam, in every and any trade, there are scams, it just depends on whether you are greedy and ignorant to fall into the traps of the 95% of under trained sales distributors who just do what they are told without put on their thinking cap.
People think it is easy and simple, but I can tell anybody straight in the face, Network Marketing is not a simple trait, if anybody tells you it's simple, you might want to consider revising on your decision to even listen to the distributor who may not know exactly what they themselves are doing or have yet to meet such difficult situations yet.
Disclaimer: the percentage which I've written above are purely based on what I observed since I have started network marketing years back and should not be used as a standard measure, should anybody require statistics, kindly seek professional govt websites and do the calculations yourself.
Network marketers or MLMers are merely salesmen. And like all other jobs, only the very top will earn the most.
if company is selling health products or other items that has recurring sales it's okay...............those ''marketing'' one-off items like diamonds, etc etc are just a shell game..................they could very well start a game with say a paperclip or an eraser.............
one thingfor sure, those MLM companies started by Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, M'sians and S'poreans are almost always a scam.............with pretty packaging............they also deal with mostly obscenely overpriced one-off purchases...........
in US, i believe a ''normal'' person can make tons of money through MLM but in Southeast Asia, mostly only the ''insiders'' can do it..............
I have heard of rich and successful lawyers, doctors and even hawkers.
But I have never heard of a successful and rich MLMer.
Ok, maybe I need to widen my social circle.
got lah............even in S'pore.............but mostly the big earners have been involved for many years with the M'sian companies..........
now they aim for the young people becoz they're more willing to risk and they're the new market for the new MLM companies. in this kind of thing, all depends on your contacts............
but many irresponsible uplines will simply lead the new people in and then before these new people can break even or make money, the uplines will be involved in another company or the same company will launch new product...............so only the top people make tons of money while the new recruits lose............
this kind of companies don't care about long-term as for them it's kind of hit-and-run............once the big bosses make the dough, they'll jump ship..........

well, all business, employment jobs, companies are like that.
if it profits, the boss CEO earns the most. look at banks, insurance, financial, and property companies, the boss earns the most. the sellers/employees and the customers don't make that much, in fact some even suffer losses on investment.
it's the same everywhere and anywhere.
we all just need to learn to look for places where gives us higher pay and commission only.

when you said Asia companies are "almost always scam" it does not mean all, so you cannot rule and discount all companies.
as for over-priced, it's the same with OTC products from shopping centers don't they?
Cost price so low, factor in transportation, advertisement, rental, manufacturing, packaging, employee wages and any other cost including profit per item (product/service) ..
we are paying for overpriced items, products and services everyday, so that's a fact.
as for US, do some basic comparision and you'll know it by than, just look at how much they accept network marketing versus asia countries. that should be a clear cut straight in the face ans which contributes to the level of success.

I meant only the very best earn the most. :)

most MLM companies started by Asians not worth joining since they don't really plan long-term, they just want quick money.
the products are obscenely overpriced becoz so many uplines are also making money from the product.............some companies even increase the prices of their products by a lot which is a severe warning sign...............the game is almost up...........
Aztech breakout... Got join a not?
boh lah..............i will wait for the BIG CRASH to come then i will fool around a bit with CPF money...........LOL
i copied down the biggest gainers from the last crash so i reckon they might be the best bets in the next bear rally..............if CPF allow shorting, i will sell liao.............
by the way, i wanna ask you if stocks will retrace a lot or not like forex? if retrace a lot, it can be either a 2nd chance at entry or hugely frustrating.
if i not wrong, stock price movement not as technical right ? if breakout normally can go quite far eh ?
any FREE website for local stocks showing their charts ? i know shareinvestor.com must pay leh.
I use chartnexus if I need.
But nowadays, I go mainly for dividend stocks... But Aztech breakout might trigger me to sell if it goes too high... :(
Stocks will retrace a lot on weak fundamentals... However, local stocks are easily subjected to market maker's manipulations... harder for forex though... However, there are still some ways to detect if a market maker is manipulating it.... trade secret although I seldom make use of what I have learned so far...
For me, I'm lesser on TA and heavier on FA nowadays as I have other committments in life than constantly monitoring the market... At the moment, my annual dividends stand at around 7.4k... Hoping to increase to 12k eventually by end of this year...
My latest entry is AIMSAMPIREIT at 0.215...
chartnexus.com ??
yeah, fundamental is more important............youcan still get out of trouble if you got it right.
those big banks manipulate forex via the dow jones..............thanks for the info !

okay, agreed on this.
in business it's also the same right.
the business with larger business earns the most. Toyota was previously the highest sales company of cars isn't it thus they earn in volumes. Similar in some ways.
As for your 2nd line, I suppose you're referring to salesmanship. If it's salesmanship, it can be learned.
