Recently, this guy posted an ad:
Currently my company has a flexible + high paying sales / marketing vacancy. Pay is $2000 per month + commission/incentives and it goes progressively higher consistently.You will be selling the company's prestigious memberships and have the potential to earn large commissions for that.So I emailed him and he said I would have to sell the memberships for the company. It will be basic+commission but he said by right anyone who wants to work here have to also join one of the memberships that they will be selling, so the kind of membership depicts the amount of basic pay you get which ranges from less than $100 to thousands.Is this a scam? Please advise me, thanks :) -

This type of scheme is not illegal in Singapore, but is in many other countries.
I suggest that you go look for a job somewhere else, because this is more or less a "legal scam".

Yup, its practically impossible for you to make payments to get a company to hire you.
They're going to tempt you with how much their staff can earn, good life...etc...etc...
Like the old saying goes, anything that sounds too good to be true usually is.

This is a dubious company. These are the following points you need to take note of: 1. Any company should not be taking any money from you in order for you to work for them. Some excuses are like memberships, or what courses etc, unless they have accreditation from Singapore government boards. 2. Selling of membership MUST entail selling of actual products or services, else it is IMMEDIATELY pyramid selling which is ILLEGAL in Singapore. Products could be like health supplements, foodstuffs, etc, Services are like club memberships where there is a Physical club somewhere in Singapore, or services for sports, fitness, Spa, etc. If these 2 points are not correct, please do not join.
