A long time friend of mine recently sms me to seek permission if she can 'borrow' my hse add. She told me that she was joining amway. As her parents are the conservative type, they won't allow her to join. Thus, using my mailbox as her letters medium.
As I had been scammed in VE before, I advised her that mlm is all the same. Furthermore, amway is the 'father' of all mlm and has been around for so long. How is she going to climb up the ladder. And I told her of my experience in VE.
All all she could say was, "Amway has a different system than VE and it really works.". Another brainwashed fellow.
sigh
Hi,
Did you give her a chance to explain why she thought the system was different?
It's good to have a dream.
Whether it can be turned into reality is a different matter.

How is it different.
MLM is MLM. Nothing to it.
Icic,
I dunno wat's the difference, but not all are scams, especially since this one do not require any large investment or stock-up and comes with money back guarantee.. so nothing to scam too...
i will pray for ur fren

I am praying for her too. As long as she doesnt come to me to sell products or recruitment, I am fine.
Maybe next time, she drive you around in her brand new Audi?

The thing is, to rise esp. in AMWAY is freakingX10 super duper tough. Yet, the 'upline' would give empty promises as easy and sure money back gurantee etc. How is it not a scam.
That's great!
Praying for her to fail or to succeed?
Hope it's for her to be successful, that's at least what a fren can do :)
no need pray, already dead...

How come its super duper tough? Did you try it before?
Anyway, nobody said that the business is easy.. it requires lots of effort.. but that's also what makes it worthwhile and stable. The only thing is that there is no risk, since there is no large investment of capital, so since there is nothing to lose, it cannot be a scam. Of coz if dun do anything or do not put in effort.. will take longer time... its only fair..
And oh, the 90-day money-back guarantee for the products and the 1-year money back guarantee for the starter kit is not an empty promise, it's written down in black and white by the company.
Whalaan! it is like catching Gonorrhea (how to spell it?) cuz just like the disease it was so contagious in the 80s.

Its superduper tough because its a very well established Network Marketing company... They have hundreds of thousands of members world wide and Singapore is the 96th stop in its globalization path... i.e. if your friend want to join, your friend is at the extreme bottom right now... and since its already well established, its harder to find new members...

Oh pls, of course there's no large investments. However, how about transport cost? How about membership fees? The money required to pay for the products that you must buy per month? She's still a student mind you and $50 is not easy to come by for a student.
The time wasted there? More effort you say? When I was in VE, my upline worked her shit off. However, one of the other distributors were more cunning and manipulative and earn more than her.
So what if it's written black and white? It's easy to use delaying tactics and in the end, cannot 're-fund'.
Can't really explain much. I can gurantee you, 1 year down the road, you would wake up the idea of making it big in est. co. esp when it's an old one.

Icic, but if this is true, isn't it the same for all companies since they also wouldnt be able to get this same market since they are already in Amway?
Anyway, you don't need that much amount to have a decent income. Since there are newborns every year, there's still a huge big market anywhere around the world and even in Singapore itself.
And also, if you have any frens in many other countries, can immediately join, rather than wait for a new company to open there..

exactly. Unless it's a pioneering co.
At the end of the day, MLM would benefit those at the top. So, those agents who claim that everyone would gain profit is all crap. Those at the bottom would still suffer.
From what I learnt from VE:
at a certain layer, and if the 'target' for promotion is too easy to hit. They would widen the points needed to be promoted. So those at the bottom of est. co.s are the ones that would have to climb mount everest compared to a pioneer who only need to walk to a small hill to get to the same position.

I'm not saying its impossible, its just gonna be harder than a new company... If you has the will and the smarts to make it happen, then it will happen... remember, MLM is a result based income... not an effort based income...

Yup, got new borns. However, how long would it take for it to grow and earn so money before you can recruit.
I assume you are from amway. Correct me if I am wrong.

Exactly.

I think firstly, there's no requirement to buy products every month.
Also, the products are mainly daily products that we all use every day, so we will still buy it somehow whether from here or the supermarket, so its just simply redirect purchases rather than forking out to buy extra unnecessary products.
Cunning and being manipulative will not work for the long term, maybe short term, but sooner, everybody will see the person's true colours and the business will collapse.. that's why to build a long-term one is simply to have integrity, care for others and willing to put in the effort to build and work.
The delaying tactic will also only be done by cunning and manipulative people as described above.
No matter which company, as long as it is a reputable one, it depends on one's individual effort.

I think if they need to change the plan to make it more difficult, then there's something wrong with the original plan.
