basically what you guys read about enyouth already...my experience is more or less the same.. still feeling very very angry, and betrayed..
to cut the long story short.. been tricked by a former friend to come down to that enyouth *coffeeshop*.. you know like long time never see den come meet up.. then i kena psycho for few hrs straight.. like they dun let mi go until i sign the some "smart buyer" contract.. now i feel pissed and so dumb for signing that shit.. but at least i didn't pay that 50++ dollars.. they keep on telling me nvrmind no need to pay first.. f* pressure and coerce la..
for you guys never get this exp before.. lucky you, it was really the crappiest experience, that your friend can lie, cheat you like this..
how now? not that i scared kena harassed by them now.. but am i legally binded or anything to them(for anyone who has seen the paper before)? the contract didn't say anything about paying- just that they can "kick me out" for inactivity.. yea like i bloody want to be in it.. i just wanted to go home..
after i read about all other ppl's exp with this shit, i am so pissed off with myself.. but more with my so-called friend.. how could he do this to me?? like he kena brain-washed.. now I am just going to ignore the crap out of them..
anybody else recently got this kind of shit? seems to be getting more and more common... yarrrrrrrrrrgh still so pissed..!
u can fight but must prove that u sign the contract under duress..
ya i guess so.. but not as if they hold a gun to my head.. but still like give me a lot of pressure.. how how? regret man! dumbest thing i've done! i guess i signed becos i trust my "friend"and that thought it won't get me into any shit.. just did it for a favour.. (lesson learnt cannot any how trust your friends about such shit..)
btw the ppl all inside talk and behave almost like some cult grp.. like you knnow those cult that believe their pastor/leader/father is jesus/god.. it's almost that extreme.. they keep on repeating the same ol thing like oh got 5 digit pay and mr or ms so and so got car now and all that success story.. scary man!
Don't blame it all on that friend, he was just doing his job in his best interest.
It is you whom couldn't stand under pressure So tough luck, boy - learn to handle it better the next time.
U r not binded by anything lar..The so-called "contract" is merely a paper for membership. As long as u dun pay, they oso LL, but wll probably pester u more. I hav been there, done that. Just tell them straight (& firmly) tat u r not interested & they wll get the drift.
As chinese saying goes (loosely translated), "When cow doesnt wanna drink, there's no point pressin its head down."
And yes, dun blame ur fren le lar, he is onli doin wat he is required to do.
I was also tricked by my friend before. Ended up getting psycho'd by one of their "managers". Different ending though, in the end I psycho'd 3 of my friends to get out after they witnessed how i questioned their "manager". Muahaha

FYI... when someone send lawyer letter, the damages is going to be $50 + lawyer fees...
My advice to you is go back there and demand to read the paper you anyhow sign one... Rule (1) in signing contracts, READ the paper b4 signing it... understand it.... I've heard a lot of people say kena psyco this, kena forced that when they themselves never read the contract they signed...
After reading, then you act accordingly to what you signed...

Sorry, if it's just a lawyer's letter, the case didn't proceed to court, they can't claim the legal fees.
For the case to proceed to court, they first need to ask lawyer to write letter to claim for payment. That will cost his "friend" afew hundred dollars depending on the lawyer he engages. If he pays the $50 at that point in time, his friend would have wasted afew hundred dollars for the lawyer's letter, not worth the effort of his friend.
If the request for payment has failed, then it proceeds to writs of summons. But seriously, which fool would engage a lawyer to claim back $50.
I would just tell TS to ignore request for payment by friend unless he sends you a registered letter from his lawyer. If he sends you non-registered letter, just dump it in the trash and pretend you didn't receive the letter.
But by not paying your friends the $50, it just means that your friends will no longer be your friends anymore. I think it's a worthwhile trade, any friend who exploits another friend don't deserve to have friends.

I don't feel that this is the right way to approach this... You go to a restaurant for makan but when you eat already, you realize that you don't want to makan so in the end you don't pay... Its a bit like stealing already...
My advice to TS is just go back and understand your obligations from A - Z on that contract he signed... after you understand it, then you act accordingly...

Then tell TS to pay his friend the $50, end of story.
Don't forget there is a difference between going to a restaurant, ordering bird's nest which later turned out to be gelatin; and going to a restaurant ordering bird's nest which are real bird's nest. Didn't TS say in his topic that he has been tricked?
When u feel something isn't right and u've been tricked, just leave. No need to give explanation.

TS was not tricked... he was tricked into coming but he was pressured to buy... but he had a choice of not giving in to the pressure but did... Unless TS as tied to a chair and forced to sign then its a different story...

Read the topic and the story again.
Understand the legal terms, misrepresentation, duress and undue influence.
Duress and undue influence does not imply physical force on the person, to tie him to a chair, put a knife to his throat to force him to sign.

First point, he was tricked to meet up with a friend... he was not tricked to signed the contract... This point doesn't apply in him signing the contract...
Psyco is not defined here... Unless the presentation is a straight forward lie so that TS would sign the contract, then its misrepresentation... But through out my life, I've heard many people say they were psyco when it is simply a positive presentation of their product... But in the end its simply a presentation, an advertisement for the consumer to buy their product...Unless TS can prove that they were lieing about their product, we can only assume TS as simply bombarded with positive presentation...
Wah kaoz... like that means its already Penal Code Cap 224 Section 340 Wrongful Confinement
Wrongful confinement.
340. Whoever
wrongfully restrains any person in such a manner as to prevent that person
from proceeding beyond certain circumscribing limits, is said “wrongfully
to confine” that person.
(a) A causes Z to go within a walled space, and locks Z in. Z is thus prevented from proceeding in any direction beyond the circumscribing line of wall. A wrongfully confines Z. (b) A places men with firearms at the outlets of a building and tells Z that they will fire at Z if Z attempts to leave the building. A wrongfully confines Z.
like that TS should have called 999...
TS alway have the option to leave... but instead, he listened to the presenters to stay so he stayed... its TS own fault for not leaving...
For the record, I'm not with enyouth or whatever... I've just studied business b4 and though business ethics are questionable here, there is nothing legally wrong done here...

Well, since I'm blinded by my own ego, care to give me your explaination... And don't use misrepresentation here coz TS never said that he was lied to about the contract...
