Case wins 2nd suit against timeshare resale firm

SINGAPORE'S consumer watchdog has won a lawsuit against a local timeshare company that tricked and pressured customers into selling off their vacation digs.
But the victory against firm Global Europ might not be great news for dozens of clients who say they were swindled. The six-year-old Singaporean company, which helps customers terminate their timeshare contracts, is winding up its timeshare business. The division was the subject of 52 complaints to the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case). The watchdog slapped Global Europ with a lawsuit under the Consumer Protection Act last September after customers said the firm lied and pressured them into selling, said Case's executive director Seah Seng Choon. The company threw in the towel on May 14 and reached a consent judgement with Case, admitting to unfair business practices and promising to desist and pay legal costs. It also took out a notice in Monday's Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao to advertise the settlement. |
From today's Straits Times. Now that action can be taken against Timeshare companies successfully, doesn't it stand to reason that if more people report to CASE on SE's pressure tatics, hard sell techniques and blatant cheating practices as well as corrupting our youth to give up their education to sell paper clips at MRT stations, if more people report to CASE as soon as possible, CASE can SUE SE and recover all the money that was cheated into investing with them?
I'm sure CASE is now empowered to take action against MLM companies contravening the MLM act and masquerading as Investment firm as well as trying to launder money by transferring memberships from SE registered in Singapore to EM-Max registered in Hong Kong.
For those who remembered, EMCOM Singapore declared once they bought over a company named China Photar, with Sunshine Empire as 1 of the shareholder.
They renamed it EMCOM International.
(source: http://www.emcombeyond.blogspot.com/)
Now it seemed that Those who founded SE is moving away from this SE name. ie., by forming EM MAX.
Both SE & its President Hoo Choon Cheat in April had completely let of their share in EMCOM International
(Source - http://www.insiders.hk/reports/overview.php?stockCode=8220)
Now even EMCOM International is going to changing its name. (Source: http://www.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/gem/20080521/GLN20080521034.pdf)
Thats exactly right. I wonder how much is the paid-up capital of SE, since under the law they are only liable to that amount right? Worthless company, worthless epoints, absolutely no ideas left other than to ask ah beng and ah lian sell paper clip at MRT. All the other MLM companies in Singapore must be laughing now, James Phang and Jackie Hoo are really the laughing stock of MLM and business in general
Our dear James is sneaky...
NOP, NTI, Sunshine, Emmax, Emcom now Bridge Partners?

In the PDF doc, Emcom is proposing change of name to "bridge partners"
Hmm... from the above link...
"The Board announces that the Company entered into the Agreement with the Vendors and Mr. Yong whereby the Company has conditionally agreed, among other things, to acquire from the Vendors the entire issued share capital of BPF, which will at Completion legally and beneficially own 5 % of BPC and 5 %
of CNC, which in turn will beneficially own 100% of BPIM, at a consideration of HK$ 180 million."
I think the deal fell through....
In the latest news release in HKex News, http://www.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/gem/20080718/GLN20080718047.pdf,
Quoting.... "Jolly King (my insert:owned in full by James Phang Wah), Mr. Lee Pin Yeow, Mr. Phang Wah and Emcom Limited (the “Defendants”) for HK$ 180,000,000 (and interests, cost and damages and further or other relief as the court may think fit) for a breach of the Agreement."

A safe guess is that they would blame america's recession multiplyer effect during 2010 when it collapses and then build up their new company... maybe emipire investments plus? or smth?
btw 2010 is a little too late.. maybe earlier
Flashback:
During the Sunshine Empire 1st Anniversary Celebration (the final and only one) held in Genting Highlands in 2007, James Phang and Jackie Hoo was being held up in detention and assisting in investigation by the Commercials Affairs Department [CAD] of Singapore. Their passports were held by the police and could not escape.
David Phang (brother of James Phang and accomplice) announced in the Sunshine Empire Concert (held in "Arena of Stars", Genting Highlands) that he was busy in Singapore as his mother was sick and resting in hospotal.
This is a lie, publicity stunt and cover-up.
The instructions from Jackie Hoo to all BRMs such as Lee Yong Chew (Fake Name used to scam people = Ken Lee), Rick, Yuan Jie (David), Mei Qi, Alex Au etc, was to safeguard this information of James Phang being locked up by the police.
Top priority was to ensure confidence of GP investors in the Taipei and TaiChung Wireless project (now both proven to be non-existent) and not to upset the Sunshine Empire Agents outside of Singapore.
The secondary priority was to shift attention of CAD, MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) to investigate other MLM companies such as EnYouth, Long Far and CosLab. Jackie's rationale was EnYouth was most similar to NTI; LongFar and Coslab's products and marketing plans was most similar to Sunshine Empire's unauthorised and unregulated investment schemes (Gold Prime, Silver Prime, Bronze Prime, EmPin). Agents were told to call CAD, MediaCorp to report the alleged crimes of these companies.
This was also the time that the internationl GP or EmPin was formulated to save Sunshine Empire Singapore. (Later on, EmPin's pay out proved to be worst than any other GP, SP or BP. Now EmPin is a defunct product and investors are still waiting for a refund)
One month later, James Phang's mother really died. Agents, Managers, Downlines were all expected to attend the wake and funeral to prove their loyalty to James Phang and attendance was taken. It is a EGA tradition to make even a wake/funeral to be a business related function. Small division meeting were even held during the wake to boost sales in order to compensate James Phang's lost.
wow, are you cheated ? why you seems hating him so much ?

Do u trust someone with more than 15 years track record of opening and closing MLM companies every few years, each time causing thousands of people to lose thousands of dollars each? And with projects which none materialised?
Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me twice, shame on me
Get what I am saying? ;)
