1)
melaleuca is known even in its home country...
to "pretend" to not be a "mlm".
it's business falls clearly within network marketing / mlm jurisdictions.
so its an odd tactic.
in our opinion, for those who join thinking its not mlm... might be disappointed in a more devastating fashion when they find out the truth.
might as well be open about it and say "yes, melaleuca [b]is network marketing".
2)
payout?
you mean comp plan, mhcampboy?
melaleuca is a forced matrix.
the only good part is the spillover.
but even if you want to earn from the spillover downlines in Melaleuca... you, yourself, need to sponsor 4, 5, 6, 12, more & more & more customers/distributors to earn the larger product sales commissions.
i'm sure you guys know the pros & cons of matrix plans. do you other critiques know about it? See here:
http://networkmarketingtrialsandtribulations.blogspot.com/2007/01/something-big-thats-often.html
3)
melaleuca will promote to you that "we retain 90% of our customers".
well... just like most other network marketing businesses... there is the monthly autoship.
so the 90% figure is more like a "mandatory" one.
4)
nonetheless, melaleuca is testament that true network marketing still works in the skeptic capital of the world -- singapore.
so, there's nothing to be afraid of in checking out legitimate network marketing businesses (especially professional & established american ones) -- be it for product promotion... or simple product consumption.
5)
melaleuca is a decades old company.
privately owned & relatively good.
rather new in singapore.
but their global expansion is still (slowly) determined by the company's decisions.
in over a decade of existence, it is now still only operating in 10 or 10+ countries.
we have researched and they have clarified that to open new markets / countries (which is a lucrative aspect of network marketing) will take much admin & approvals & office to be put in place for melaleuca.
strong companies which are stable (some even public listed!!), and some which are young (less than 10 yrs), with strong products... have opened logistics to ship to 30 to 50 countries!
they may not have much business going in all 30/50 countries but at least they are "able" to ship products & conduct business.
which is more lucrative... surely us "educated" singaporeans can clearly determine from the above?
hope that helps the general Sg population to figure melaleuca out.

not my cup of tea... too many have been SCAMMED.. yes.. i use that word SCAMMED.. because on the invitation of people, i've sat in and listened to charlatans try to scam people into buying into the company, selling them 5 bottles of pills for $950 when i have googled similiar products in the open market for $40
and the only way they could get their money back (breakeven) was to scam another lot of people into paying out $950 (i calculated about 7 but they only allowed 5 per person.. you had to ante out another $950... to get more.. and pray that some of your 5 have their own lower level)
after some voodoo math by the fella, i begged to differ and showed him the real math, i was told curtly to leave...
now, does that sound like a scam?
somewhere out there, it is written that MLM is a dying industry.. the birth of the Internet has negated the need for MLM...
i hope you guys well
Hmm...lets take the example of iraqi dinars and swiss cash...heard a lot of discrimination/rumours from locals reporters fearing to be conned...guess wat.. i'm an investor for both...get my returns for the iraqi dinars...in USD3.6k for just referrals(hmm..well got gd responds fr colleague/clients) recently..jz awaiting for the 15th months of my swiss cash offshore investment...kp u update again when the time is due...Well..everything has it own risk either low or high..no risk means no returns(conned)..gd luckOriginally posted by nwm:All 5 pointers raised are FACTS and not "opinions".
Yes, regret is not an option, but at least the law is there to protect the consumer / biz owner who chooses legitimate companies.
tsk tsk tsk, bear bear bear, dats y I always feel lucky to be in SG coz this country has the most scepticle people in the world, its a good training ground actually. We need a lot of people like you and its good for training people like us believe in MLM or CDM.Originally posted by the Bear:btw, enron was publicly listed too

$50 is kind of expensive...Originally posted by joetanbk:I have tried and dabbled into various MLMs such as Amway, Nu Skin and Bel-air and did not have good experiences with it. Although their compensation plans are much more attractive, they are also extremely prone to manipulation and you can end up losing lots of inventory.
I was really skeptical at first, but my wife and my retired father started it and is now reaping in a good decent monthly paycheck that is increasing by the month whilst working on it part-time. (I'm still hitting myself on the head on hesistating and now signing up ) The best part is that the investment is really small. Just $50 to get you off with a full business kit and you're off.
Another reason why this is going to take off... is that the company has not launched its 'internet ordering' and 'enrolment' portal yet (expected mid-Apr / May). Yes, it is still that new in Singapore.
