How much you understand about MLM?

Greetings,
I feel that there are a lot of misunderstanding with regards to MLM and their practice.
I understand that different MLM companies have different practice and it leads to different opionions from ex-MLM and ex-Prospects.
Generally, i have to agree that so far some individuals did resort to hard selling tactics and some disguised hit-and-run pyramid scams using MLM as a coverup.
But putting the mistakes of some individual on the whole MLM industry is rather unfair and unjustify. The industry cant harm people. Its people that harm people.
There is no BEST companies out there because in every industry and in every company and in every individual, there bound to have angel and devil in ourselves. So ultimately, who is the person that you are doing the business with? Do you trust that person? Is that person with certain moral standard?
I'm currently running my family business and I have being in MLM industry before. I feel that there are no much difference because ultimately, both are dealing with people. What I learnt from my past experience in MLM is they taught me how to be a better person and handle people with sincerity and ethnics. Their teaching had helped me so far in my family business for more than 3 years now and still on going. Perhaps is because my ex-upline is successful in MLM industry and understand the MLM know-how?
I had friends now in MLM but the way they do is very different from the way I'm being taught by my ex-uplines. Some of them sell me the binary system plan, indeed very like "pyramid selling scam". Thats the reason why I said earlier that its NOT the industry that harm people. Its those ignorant or bad-hearted people that harm people.
I think that when you do business, do check on the profile of that PERSON you are dealing with.
I hope my personal opionion can give the reader here a different perspective towards MLM.

Alright, let's all put those personal moral issue aside and have a constructive point to point discussions on the MLM business plan compared to traditional ones. And what are their main strategy in market penetration.
1) Does all MLM companies have a mission statement? If they do, shouldn't they include current practices of retailing, advertising, sponsorship and dynamic MLM to raise product awareness?
2) Human resource. It seems that there's no limit to how many "recruits/employees/distributors" they can recruit. No company complains of too many end-customers, but for hiring employees, they need to check on its profitable standing to come out with calculated number to sustain its business. As for MLM, a newly recruit is as good as a end-consumer, till he finds his own. Thus, their recruitment drive is as good as selling?
3) Supply and demand. Without creating product awareness through other means of traditional marketing, how can the products penetrate the market to sustain largely unlimited "recruits/employees/distributors"? Would MLM companies be concerned of market saturation?
4) Profit and losses. With the task of overhiring recruit/staff/salesrep/distributors and overflow of products, it will eventually sustain some loss along the way particularly downliner. Does the company top make adjustment from the losses? Or do they profit from the losses?
5) Eligibility. How does one be eligible to be a recruit/staff/distributor of a MLM company? The means to spend thousands on products in intial sign-up or the ability to sell products? If I don't have thousands to spend but willing to help push product sales, would MLM give me monthly salary to work for them?
6) Failed ventures. How does the top react to so many failed ventures in their MLM company? Any measures in place? Wouldn't it be a bad rep if someone fails trying to distribute the products?
To sum it up, what's the mission statement of MLM companies? What are their business value? Whats the strategic marketing plan? Are these being spelt out during recruitment talk?? -

Hmm.. I doesn't understand much about MLM, all I know is they evolved from something called Pyramid Direct Sales..

You should know I am only targeting local MLMs and has nothing to do with oversea MLMs. From the link you gave me, it is a registration from some MLM company, I can presume this is a recruitment from that company and/or your are trying to promote it.
Another factor, since you know you can't change my views on MLM, what for telling me about it? Make sense?
Finally, please explain why you are not replying my thread but pmed me?
Normally this is what MLMers does.... Another example is YaDoKing...

The products may be good. But the concept is just not my thang. -

Joining an MLM in the hope of making it big is like volunteering for the beachhead on D-Day as in the opening scenes in Saving Pte Ryan. Out of 10 million, 9,999,999,999 will fail miserably, some even losing lotsa money or becoming bankrupts or mebbe even commit suicide and 1 make it big for a while until the pyramid structure collapses and he ends right back where he started, go into debts get hounded by ah longs and oso eventually commit suicide..............
MLMs have much to promise - residue income blah blah. If so easy to make money, then who still wants to work?

"those who really understand the essense of MLM ; will definately join MLM; love MLM; and helps all partner to success in every aspect; and eventually will gain success given from other partner" MLM is the ONLY career that has the motto "ONE FOR ALL; ALL FOR ONE".

My CNI has been listed in the main board of Bursa Saham Malaysia. What I have gain so far is more than i can image, including brand new Honda Accord, Peugot 407, and coming soon BMW 328i . I emphasis in taking care of one's health before everything else as i realise HEALTHY body brings healthy mind that could forsee better future. Ohh, before i forget, next year i'm buying a house in a golf course. Too good to be true, huh. Well, this is the reason God promise HEAVEN. -

If you think MLM is a quick rick/cepat kaya; sort of like

i can tell you MLM is NOT EASY.
MLM is not what you really think YOU UNDERSTAND.
MLM is definately SIMPLE.
but MLM is ONLY for those people who are willing

It is the BEST career.
