In Singapore, I can say safely that it isn't a problem. Other countries I'm not sure. -
PUB water is not unsafe to drink though. But, does PUB guarantee the safety of water from the reservoir to your water tap? Well, it may sounds lame. But, what do you think of those water filtration system that has been selling in the market ? Is it a scam ? Do you think it's relevant in Singapore context ? We see bottled water everywhere selling in Singapore - from pure distilled water to mineral water. And people keep buying them!!!
We can simply fill our empty bottle from tap water directly to drink.Will it make any difference ?
If i am to boil my tap water, will it eliminate any water impurities and bacteria that could possibly contain in the water ?
Hope you can share your thoughts. -
One thing I'm proud of in Singapore is we can drink directly from the tap. When I come back from overseas trips, weeks at a go, I'm so glad to come back to Singapore, not having to carry large bottles of water to wherever I live. Until the day the government says the tap water is no longer safe to drink, I'd be happy to drink it =) If it wasn't safe and someone can prove it, boy is PUB gonna get it.

Save your money. PUB water is safe. If you're still unsure, just boil it.

No matter what you do, you won't kill all bacteria. Firstly, some bacteria are resistant to heat, though they don't cause much harm. Secondly, once you pour out to a cup, it will be exposed to air, tiny particles will go in. at home, my mum boil the water.
just to be clear i mean that 70% of plain water that i consume daily is straight from the tap.
