Which MLM do you think is good?
Common views seems to be that all MLMs are bad.
Some say there are good (1%) and bad ones(99%).
Hope you can chip in your comments to help everyone understand more and find the 1% good ones.
some questions I have when searching for good MLMs to join...
1. What are the factors that make an MLM good?
2. As long as I can make money, should I care how I make it? or what products I promote?
(I too, like most people, like to make a quick buck. Even if I do not want the products, someone else might right? eg, slimming pills, facials. )
3. Most MLMs pay more for recruiting than retailing. Why is it? And is that bad practice?
4. I earn my friends' money by recruiting them.
But they are buying the chance to resell the distributorship and make money from their friends. And so on.
So everybody gets rich together as long as people believe and keep joining.
Win-win situation right?
What do you think?
5. Do all MLMs ask for initial investments and monthly maintenance? Is this a justified expense for having your own "business"? Or is this the way money is earned money from downlines?
6. Who is supporting the MLMs? The consumers or the distributors?
7. It is said that only the top few guys who pioneer the MLM will earn.
So is it ok as long as I am the first few to join?
(eg, the new MLM Long far that started few weeks ago)
8. What do you think of Long Far?
If Long Far is started by ex-Coslab agents. And Coslab was started by ex-NOP agents. Then they must have a lot of MLM expertise and experience right?
9. Which MLMs do you know that limits the number of distributors in an area?

And share with everyone which company has good MLM practices.
In the end, we are all in it to earn money. I am trying to find a way without harming others and instead, help others.

I agree with you that lots of pple out there think tat MLM business is not appropriate and viable, usually says tat it is a pyramid scheme. But in actual fact how many out there really fully understand wat it means by MLM/Network Marketing? Sad to say tat traditional type business has saturated the mind of many pple out there in the marketplace. Anything not of the old tradition normally create doubts. Agree?
See below my ans to ur qns
1. What are the factors that make an MLM good?
Marketing plan and products. Marketing plan will tell you how much you can earn from ur effort. Products tat is marketable now and in the future are important to every business.

Before you can be an effective distributor, you ought to know ur products in and out. If u can't convince urself then how r u able to convince others.

MLM company, like Amway and Avon started by doing direct sales. But soon distributors realized tat by purely selling, they can't earn much and it is very time and energy consuming. So they embarked on building networks, meaning recruiting downlines. I won't say getting paid from recruiting, but commision due from the stocks that new recruit has to purchase upon signing up.

I don't think tat is the right motivation to involve in MLM/Network Marketing. Don't forget u will be the lead for ur direct downlines and u have to keep them going otherwise the whole network will just stop and gone bust. So how many direct downlines can u handle at one time. There should reach a pt tat u juz concentrate helping ur direct downlines to recruit their own downlines. Ur ultimate goal in MLM should be tat residual income generated by the pple in ur entire network.

It depends on the Marketing Plan.

Both. There r pple who only want to use but not joining. Distributors most of time r oso users of their own products.

It is the person who presevere tat will rise up to the top. MLM/Network Marketing is not easy business, it is not like some who said it is a get-rich-quick scheme. Requires a lot of patience and effort.

If Long Far is started by ex-Coslab agents. And Coslab was started by ex-NOP agents. Then they must have a lot of MLM expertise and experience right?

Gentle reminder:
Earning money by recruiting is illegal. Its only legal if you earn money from the products your downlines sell. Keep that in mind when choosing an MLM to join. -

my friends who are trying to get me to join their downlines tells me that recruiting is the whole point of the business. think we all got too carried away with the payment plan.
i thought that its ok if i do not like the product as long as someone else needs it. for example, doctors do not eat all the medication they sell in the clinic.
I see the point now, that if i do not like the products, how can i convince others to use it?
now i should find an MLM that carries a product that i personally believe in and will keep using. then, i will not feel like i am promoting some inferior stuffs just to make money. or worst, just earn money from recruiting.
does anyone know where i can get a list of MLMs in Singapore, and the products they market? -
Try DSAS, Direct Selling Association of Singapore, there is a list of MLMs there but do check with the people here in SGForums, I'm sure they can give their opinions about the MLMs listed there, not all are good.

DSAS, as what many forumites have said time and time again, is just an association by and for Direct selling companies. MLM is part of this broad umbrella called Direct Selling
And true, DSAS is founded to promote ethical seling. Its not an authority to decide the legaility of any multi level scheme, which is very contentious. -

Nobody other than the police in consultation with the Attorney General can decide whether a scheme is indeed a fraud. It is unfair to MLMs to label them as frauds in general but certainly, recruiting MLMs which have little or no product movement is definitely fraud. A MLM that does not show the minimum, maximum, mean, median and average income of its distributors violate MLM law. It all boils down to a case by case basis and that website is a good indicator to help you decide if the particular MLM you are interested in is potentially a fraud. 1.how u know this food stall sells nice and delicious food..?
2.how u know bubble tea is nice and sweet..especially among teens..?
3.how u know this thing is good... tt thing is good..? etc etc etc..
for example..
MR A house downstairs got one hokkien mee stall which is very nice..and he intro to his friend MR B to try.. so MR B try and find tt it's true.. so next time MR B will also do the same.. intro to his friends and so on..
so as u can see.. indirectly and w/o you noticing.. u are creating a chain of customers for tt hokkien mee(product) uncle(company) alrdy.. which both side doesn't require u to fork out any $ to recruit pple.. the most a few dollars for the product(which is the food) to consume.. why some food stalls always have long long q..? their food must be nice and delicious right..? or they q there for fun..?
so do they know abt these stall in the 1st place..? how they know..? either by chance tt they try it themself or intro throu friends right..?

what i'm trying to say is...know the product well 1st b4 u go into their NM plan in the company.. like MR A tried the hokkien mee and it's nice..before he go intro to MR B..or u're the type of person who let pple try 1st before you..?
know more abt e product..how can it help you and ur family to recover from sickness or maintain ur health to the max..? so tt u can enjoy life more..
and rather not let greed overcome u to earn quick bucks.. those who got overcome..the only thing i can say is too bad lor..a price u have to pay for tt knowledge and experience gain..
and when u find tt the product helps you and ur family.. very soon u'll be like MR A who intro uncle(company) hokkien mee(product) to his friend MR B and so on..
so next time if ur relatives drop by ur house..would u or ur parents do the same..? introducing the hokkien mee..? especially if some of ur relatives are sickly.. do u want them to stay healthy and smile always..?
or you just wana have the product all by urself..? i don't think so..
so if they are willing to try and it works..!! then next time they will do the same like what MR B does.. tt's how u start ur NM business and retain ur downline..doesn't matter wheather friends or relatives.. what pple wana see is results..!! tt's where u have all the real life testimonal.. from u urself..ur family and ur relatives who have tried the product and it works..!!

what eveybody shld concern abt is what products they can offer 1st.. how it can help u and the pple ard u... do ur homework 1st..
how u expect urself to intro to other pple when u urself not interested in the product in the 1st place.. ur own real life testimonal is the most solid evidence of the product.. if not just move on.. move on to some other products which u r interested in and wana consume..
i see alot of pple replies in here..keep asking weather this company is gd or not.. their NM system gd or not etc.. even u got the best NM system for u but u not interested in the product and u never consume urself.. how u wana share with the pple ard u.. then u'll be like those greed pple who wana earn quick bucks..u will have this kind of thinking more then u wana success in this line.. u won't stay long.. then when things doesn't go ur way and u fail in this line.. u'll be like the rest of them in here.. start shooting e pple or company..tt it wun work lar.. all bullshit lar.. scams lar etc... -
all the MLMs just give you airy fairy tales of you making it big lah.
in the end, just cheat you of your time and money and you still where you are, if not worse if you were not working harder at your job for that promotion...

there's no such thing as a good MLM -

8 million distributors and revenue is 4 billion..
that makes each distributor averaging $500 in sales per year..

to be brutally frank, most MLMs are scams...
the rest, the honest ones, probably folding up coz in the advent of the Internet and communications these days, MLM has lost its meaning...

Until they show their yearly taxable income slip, I hesitate to believe anybody other than the very top (ie top 2 or 3) in the company can make a steady and good salary of more than 3k a month. U have to START an mlm company to be able to succeed. Not that I'm giving you ideas...
