Dear all,
In summary, don't waste your time on any MLM rubbish.
Trust your gut instincts.
What does not feel right, just walk away.
Bel Air organised a 'workshop' on 14-15 April 2006 at Orchid Country Club.
Although I am weary about MLM rubbish, I was tricked into attending the workshop without knowing it was a workshop organised by an MLM organisation.
I am surprised with their advanced recruitment tactics that:
1. Led up to convince me to the 'workshop'
2. Was employed during the workshop
The singapore government should take a closer look at this type of business.
It is definately not clean, but the way they go about matters makes it difficult to pin them down, unless one is very well versed about commercial law.
Question: How on earth did my 'friend' get me to attend.
Answer: I was literally tricked right under my nose in the name of a 'friend' I thought I could trust.
Looking back, from day one, she 'cultivated' our 'friendship', waiting patiently for the right time to catch me unaware.
She employed all sorts of tactics, even the same tactic shared by someone in this forum to lend me "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" book to create the halo effect.
Last tuesday, she said there was a very good speaker from taiwan that is holding a workshop to train young businessman. She sung praises about this speaker. She even said I may get head-hunted as there will be many successful businessmen attending.
She said she is attending and said she is going too, as if she is an attendee who has no affiliation to anything connected to it.
Cost $250, inclusive of meals and one night stay at a hotel.
The impression I was led to believe was that it was a professional workshop.
So I went.
We met at Yishun MRT where a charted TransIsland bus fetched us to Orchid Country club.
I then realised my friend was wearing a company polo T-shirt like many other members. It was easy to tell who were the newbies like me.
I also noticed that all the members had brought along with them this Air fragrancing device.
I became suspicious, asked my friend what is this device about, she said the function room has a lot of bacteria so the device is to sanitise the air.
And so the story continues....I left halfway with my friend and her 'mentor' trying very hard to persuade me to stay.
There is so much more to write and the story becomes more ridiculous.
It's really not worth the trouble to elaborate.
I just want to advice, just earn an honest day's work.
If you are naive and join, you will just become another one of them, desperate to recruit a new member to earn back your 'investment' at all costs.
MLM:
1. Abuses the institution of friendship.
2. Preys on human greed on getting rich.

I agree with Undertakerism & I m sure "pirannah" now "SIAM" his friend everywhere including phone call... poor thingOriginally posted by undertakerism:pirannnah , well done !..
i share your sentiment, u feel like you have lost a good or closed friend rite!..
Will you still dare to meet your friend again or even care to pick up his/hers phone call ?
Those BAs always like to claim that they have make more friends after they have joined.... my ass ! Start losing good closed friends is the begining of this GAME...
Thanks to all who replied.Originally posted by VeryFree1:Hi pirannnah - how come the seminar is in Country Club not Commenwealth HQ or Bendemeer Road
May be these ppl want to "fish" big fish in country club or look for part time - cutting grass.....
Pirannah- U shouldt taruk her, u must pity her becos they are very very desprate liao there is why she do this to u.... God bless her , Ah menOriginally posted by pirannnah:Thanks to all who replied.
I hope my sharing spares you the pain of ever falling into any of the MLM rubbish.
I think now my friend siam me cos I taruk her nicely.
She still maintains her innocence. It's unbelivable.
I think people like that deserve no less than a good telling off.
Friends? No more la.
The way she plotted things, she was in no way a friend. More like a fiend.
Ya ya ya ...Since all these "SUCKERS" always give us "false hope" before we join them, we also can let them to stomach back this. You friend will hope tat u will join in & help them to make $$$$ for themOriginally posted by pirannnah:That's an idea. Let me put a nice twist to the tale.
I can ask her to blanja me to BA Dinner and then when she buys tix, I just don't turn up.
Basically, I've been suaning her big time, in many ways.Originally posted by VeryFree1:Ya ya ya ...Since all these "SUCKERS" always give us "false hope" before we join them, we also can let them to stomach back this. You friend will hope tat u will join in & help them to make $$$$ for them
Pirannnah, I am not sure what Bel'Air presented when you attended their recrutment talk in Orchid Country Club as you did not elaborate.Care to share with the forumers? I am sure many who have presented their views here attended their " Home Party" before. The whole place looks like a cult gathering where members dance to loud music, yelling & people sharing their experience. It is more comical than you could imagine. They looked more like comedians than their self- proclaimed " Businessman"Originally posted by pirannnah:Basically, I've been suaning her big time, in many ways.
She wanted me to meet her to return her book (Rich Dad Poor Dad), this is the book which I learnt many BA people use as part of their bag of tricks.
So I replied I know she needs the book back for her 'business'.
I was running late and I told her, "I know time is money, but I'll be late."
So a half an hour before we were supposed to meet, I smsed her "You won't mind if a few friends came along to ask you a few questions about bel air would you? I got no reply.
A few minutes before we were supposed to meet. I smsed her "I'll be there in 2 mins, station control. What you wearin? (Although we met)
Guess what, she completely disappeared! Went into hiding. Prob think I called CDA or police or something!
About a week has passed since.
Yesterday, I smsed her, "I heard bel air having DnD next month, can you blanja me and a few other friends? maybe we'll be bought in and join as new friend! then u can also make money!"
She replied, bel air not my cup of tea.
I replied "you so slow meh? Ya, that's what I'm saying - invite us, good potential for your financial future. u forgot what rich dad taught abt seizing opportunities? you won't know, maybe my friends will sign up under you then become desperate like the rest of bel air members n try to get their friends in. The cycle can go on!
Anyway, I want to return your book n my friends really want to meet u, they think u can be their angel like how christine (upline leader) is an angel to you. (as part of her psycho game without even mentioning mlm, my friend mention the greatness of this ah soh named christine who opened her eyes )"
hope you guys enjoyed the comedy.

How to spread Bel' Air disguised pyramid scheme to more people? Bloggers, NUS, NTU, SMU and Poly students who had attended their seminars could warn their fellow friends about the dangers Bel'Air posed. Forumers, how about sharing your views thwarting Bel' Air's relentless propaganda of earning 5 figures income

U know why your friend reply U "BA not my cup of tea" becos she can't affort to buy U a cup of tea ($0.90nian ), there is why she wanted to tell U don't ask me to buy U drinks. Now U somemore ask her to belanja U to D&D... FYI, U friend she really don know how to handle U man, you are damn good man(give me a 5 man), .... Is there someting wrong I don think so... if he didn pay $$ to attend this seminar, he won know so much, at least he found out this is SUCK & run by tis group of pplOriginally posted by casino_king:Wah lao, thread starter paid money to attend MLM seminar??????
What was his position when he left Bel'Air?Originally posted by VeryFree1:There is why i m here to tell all the forumsers this is rubbish & not true. Now even more interesting new is most of marquis & some dukes are OWED ppl a lot of $$$ (some of them even OWE more than S$100,000)instead of make 5 figures income. Some of them force to leave BA becos not every month they will have income, if yes, also not enough to suport their family & pay the debt.So have to go back to work .....Happened that last week i was out for dinner met one of them & he told me the news.. actually i also pity them becos their family also suffered a lot

What was his position when he left Bel'Air?
I could not imagine anyone getting into debts of more than 100K unless he bought his position "1+5" or "1+15" with Bel'Air. Besides, Bel'Air claims you could enjoy substantial Global Bonuses once you attain the position of Marquis and above.

How does the Maintenance Fees work? Does it mean that if the total commission earn for the month is less than $5,000 you will not get real income?Originally posted by VeryFree1:His was a marquis in BA for about 3~4 years. His wife is not working & his kids are young still studying, so if continue has not income then have to borrow $$. You know lah, all these SUCK marquis or dukes always show off that they are loaded so he also owned a car , this guy eventhought he no $$ to eat but still have to pay the car loan & all of xpenses on his car
What rubbish"Global Bonuses" that one twice a year, by the time they give u the $$, u already 5ft under ground or wanted by "ah long" or that $$$ no even enough to pay the loan interest
So you know, do MLM until "broke or very broke'" is very common .....especially in BA. There are more to come & once i know any dukes owes pp $$ or broke, i'll keep you guys posted.
