wat is MLM? anyone can give a defination?

MLM is waste of time network marketing. Usually the owners of MLM companies will try to flash their 6 figure salaries & luxury cars. Just remember the people who start the MLM business will be the ones always richs while their downlines will gradually get poorer and poorer. Most of MLM profits are obtained through purchasing stupid tapes/books on how to get rich and attending pathetic seminars. One more thing MLM people always say education waste of time and they always try to compare the cost of a can of coke. To sum up, it's all CRAP

what i dun really like abt mlm is that the distributors earn money because their friends have to give face to them.. and they continue to leech off the people below them.. it's a more 'jian' way of doing biz no matter how they say it.

I despise MLM in all forms...so my reply will be slanted to that alignment -
some say they learn a lot of "SALES SKILLS"... thats what they say..basically the same steps.. this one is for health products:
1. "helly my friend, havent seen u some time... how are you...? wanna go out for 'makan'?
2. During makan, the standard starting line is something like "hiya friend... u looked tired... stress... or even 'u look older these few months'... have u heard about the products from my company.. blah blah.. (while showing all the catalogues)... look at me after trying the products, amazingly i do look younger and healthier...ain't I?"
3. start to talk about his/her achievements (if she/he has it since he's in MLM) like his/her newly-bought-car by credit... Then start to borrow OTHER PPL's achievements "My upliner/friends got mercedes S class since followed MLM. He's just 30 years old" My other friend got BMW 7 series...
4. Then this is the time to attack the target downline's psychology... "so.. what r u waiting for? It's easy... I can see ur success potential just by looking at you... Come on... Don't u want a mercedes benz also? Forget about long hours of hard work and every thing useless from school... u can be rich and retire by the age 40... U can be your own boss in MLM".
5. Now it's the closing deal: "So shall we meet again... tomorrow? or u can arrange the time... just tell me". I'll pay for today's makan.. don't worry I got tons of money..."
The 'potential MLMers'... feeling bad/paiseh after been treated food for free (from somebody not too familiar), finally goes for the next apointment... This time finally buy the products and join MLM also... maybe because of all the promises... or because of the stories... or all of sudden become 'health conscious' or the last one... paiseh to the person who treat him/her food for free
Actually.. Nothing illegal in MLM industry...MLMers like insurance really can get rich... The fact is true that MLM is one of a way to earn good money also...(you do selling and get commission) but different from other type of salesperson (which sell products to ppl who need)... MLM is much more aggresive and attack ppl's psychology... some ended up feeling paiseh becoz of the free meal, or absorbed into the promises to be 'own boss'... well.. again it's subjective.. depends on how that person want to get money from ppl... -

the mlm ppl are just playing with ur mind... dont worry man, it's okie if u are not driving a beamer or benz at the age of 20... even Prince William is only driving a ford... so just concentrate on ur studies at a age that you should be... if u are interested in biz, study hard, get into at least a local uni. there are many entrepreneurship competition, and mentoring programmes.. if u so on about biz join those, at least u will have the qualified people to guide you. joining mlm to learn about business is like learning how to sing from william hung

mlmers will tell u money is very important.
No doubt abt it. But it is a very scheming way to do the biz by playing with the minds of prospects. Most, not all, people like to play with people's psyche by saying things to influence their thinking, especially if the person is not smart enough and mentally strong enough to analyse the situation.
After all, it is a biz and biz is like a battlefield. Survival of the fittest i guess. Every man for himself. Every company for themselves. -
One MLMer once said MLM stands for most lose money.
YOu have to find a company that works for you.
The average MLMer recruits 2 and quits.
I'm in one that pays 50% commisions on team captins so if someone just recruits 2 team captins the cost of their product is covered.
The downside of that company is it does not have the back end pay out where you can get really rich.
In another one that has the back end but have yet to make money on the front end with it.
I look at MLM as a hobbie where I can make money. -

Suggest you do a research on it instead of asking an already biased perception here. At least, they gave you the ugly side of MLM to a certain degree.
Open mind is what you need. Take it in, digest it, thrash it out and make a conclusion at the end of it. -
As mentioned in my posting about MLM under the bel air topic. Not all MLM companies are bad, it depends on how they conduct the presentation and how the compensation is structured. As long as they operate within the limits of the MLM act and priced the product appropriately with emphasis on selling more than recruitment would it be okay. Unfortunately many of these distributors do every thing from withholding of information/misrepresentation to trick people to join up to finance their up startup cost. please read my previous posting to have an idea of the rules and regulation surrounding MLM and how to recognise a proper MLM company or a pyramid-scheme recruiting based one.
