Food for Thought
erm... i think you misconstrued my post??
yeah i do agree with you. there are just too many notable examples out there born to dysfunctional families, destitute homes who have rose above their circumstances to become respectable people of society.
ditto to those who failed academically... they have carved bright futures for themselves.
i can't help but respect them. they were people who have chosen not to be dominated by circumstances.
i also can't help but agree that more often than not, we are the ones jepoardising our own destinies, although circumstances may play a decisive role.
but i'm sure that these people had one thing in common: mentors to guide them along e way. and not just people, but wise men properly equipped with the correct mentality. this begs my question: does the industry have enough of such people?
this is my point: without e proper education to begin with, how can anyone possibly be a success? for many are destroyed from the lack of knowledge...
you have made two gross misconceptions here. firstly, you gave in to the simplistic assumption that uplines are only responsible for bringing you into this trade. anyone would be a fool to join if there was no assurance of systematic mentorship along the way, simply because you know and you know that the right kind of education, and not just education alone, is the key to success.
and while yes, no one but ourselves can determine our successes, the golden rule of life is this: without the correct mindset imbued in us, there is no way we can succeed.
