depends on person. if you're not earning $$ that equates to opportunity lost. u lost time remaining in the place where u could have found a job that pays. that is already a lost. if ur taking a salary of 3k permonth on a regular job...that is about 36k per annum. if ur just thinking about not losing the $68 bucks then think harder.Originally posted by pqr:looks like you are the ones showing off with all your previous threads.

Other MLM companies yes, may loose much $$ as need to have min maintenance.
but everyone who joins amway thinks they can make it eventually..recooping the 36K opportunity cost in the first year right?

Firstly, seldom ppl go full time until they acheive an income equvilaent to the salary they are earning now. So the $36k is not in the topic. If people dun do MLM they might just spend the time watching more tv.. etc, what about opportunity cost here? Furthermore, it's not only about the money u earn, it's abt the experience you learn, that is if u join an ethical company with good values and not those out to cheat other ppl... Just my 2 cents.

when i went into network marketing, i started as full time immediately.. not like what you said as part time. my first year with my company is already more than 36k....
but my friends in amway are still struggling after 3 years.. doing part time and working 8-5 at the same time to maintain survival. hmm...
either i'm lucky or there is something wrong with amway business plan. no flaming.

First of all congrats to you, cos you really have achieved in your MLM business. There are many reason for your success and the apparent "failure" of others. By going full time, i guessed you really have put in more effort and time becos that's ur main rice bowl, so the results more or less is obvious, you badly need to succeed, to earn a living. If you have something to fall back on -- "a 9-5 job", probably you somehow will slack off a bit.
Just wondering why a successful networker marketer like you have time for these forum discussion, even in the wee hours, what do you stand to gain by discussing so actively here? Why aren't you concentratting your effort in expanding ur business? Just curious to know..

I believe it is a good company and the products are excellent and it would go a long way. Then again, the company has been around for a long time, i believe its more or less in the stabalizing period now, so the money u earn is small money, can never be like the pioneers of Amway. Consumer market in singapore is so small and saturated and most of the countries are taken up, so i feel that its almost impossible to really succeed now.... What do u think? -

Amway has around 30,000 members (whether as an user or business builder) in Singapore since 2002. Comparing to the country population of about 4.5 millions, it is about 0.7%.
Malaysia has around 161,000 members, after about 30 years in the country. Compairing to the population of 24 millions, it is also about 0.7%.
After 30 years of exisitence in Malaysia, Amway Malaysia has more than 790 distributors qualified for the trip to Tokyo, a 5% increase from the previous year.

Hi,
I am an amway distributor but not part of the network 21 group.
However, from what I know, Network 21 is using Amway products as part of their own business.
In essence, it is still Amway, but they do not really treat themselves as part of Amway

I am using a system that I learned from my upline and diamond, centre etc. It follows the professional way of just simply to share the business, and also to do the 3 S in the correct manner in order to build the business as well as customer base etc.

Hi,
Yup, I can share how I learned to approach and to do the business with u, but it is quite long to post it here. The general outline is quite simple, that is to do the 3 S. There are also 8 steps that I follow to to start doing the business etc. However, the most impt before starting on any business is yourself.
Only when one can truly understand why he/she really wants to do the business can one go about doing the above. If not, one will give up easily. The starting step is always to build oneself first etc.

why ask people about the amway, try some amway product and see yourself. if the product not acceptable, that's it.
some negative comment:
1. too many people do it.
2. too many products (company can not die easily)
3. too old (trust worth)
4. too famous (no suprise to people)
5. too leasure, no quota
6. too slow, can not make quick money
7. too difficult to understand.
8. last advice, don't join if you want short-cut. -
I really doubt this Amway business can earn you big bucks. Its distributor to consumer business model after all. Although I may join for the experience not for seriously want to make big $$. One of my relative selling for half a year and I don't think she is making big. She trys to sell those expensive water filters, air filters to get more commission, rather than cosmetics, detergents, etc. I think the best business is the Business to Business model. Business deals with other businesses in large scale project. I had been a retailer but the amount of returns on investment is still not as good as comparable from B2B. Its is very subjective though. In summary, I feel MLMs are good brainwashers for people who are looking for a quick buck and having false dreams.

Hi, I think there is some misunderstanding regarding MLMs...a good MLM does not allow us to make quick bucks..it takes some time to truly build a stable business..and it is not easy...neither does a good MLM brainwash pple...we are all intelligent pple..we have our own minds to think...we can decide whether we want the business or not...good companies only let us know of the business opportunity..and it is always up to us to analyse and to decide for ourselves..we in fact shld not succumb to any brainwash etc if any are out there....As for dreams..whether they are true or false..nobody knows..but I feel that when there is a will, there is a way...dreams are there to motivate us..give us strength etc...without dreams..our lives will be monotonous and we will be just living day by day...which is nothing wrong..but its alwiz gd to have something out there that you desire or would like to have... Dreams motivate us to work harder in whatever we do and to give it our best.
For your relative..I feel that this is slightly not the correct way of doing the business..a true Amway business is to be able to share any product..whether the low or high end ones...to customers based on their needs and wants..and actually our water treatment is not expensive...it can be proven We do not have air filters in Singapore now..maybe next time
Finally, a lot of us wants quick and fast money..I do agree..but I believe that having a strong business..and although slow but lasting one is much better..it may take a few years..but a few years of hard work is nothing compared to what we will get if we truly commit ourselves to perform the business in a true ethical manner.

Nobody can tell or gurantee you that you will be successful in anything you do. Amway business is basically an opportunity for anyone who is willing to work hard, persevere and have a desire to succeed.
If anyone knows how to make a quick buck without any risk, you might want to share with all of us.
No risk no gain. We will only get want to work for and not hope we will get want we want by just sitting around doing nothing.
In almost 11 years of worklife, these things do not happen in the workplace. Everyone is trying to make use of others in order to get promotion, backstabbing, "angkat" and etc.
I have join Amway business for about 9 months. The environment is always very positive. There is no such thing as people wants you to fail in this business. Everyone will try encourging each other. If you don't believe me, it will be my pleasure to bring you down to our centre so that you can see for yourself. -

the Nutrilite product line is good, especially their bio c+ and multi-fibre. even joining to get the products cheaper is worth it....my parents join to get the supplements cheaper...MLM is another thing to them all together.Originally posted by chillz88:Hi .. me with Amway too!
