They're involved in health products like supplements, magnetic beds.
There's uplines & downlines, and new recruits are recuited as distributors.
MLMs that are registered as DSAS members are better because people can get refunds much easier as there's a cooling off period.
Insurance is slightly different as it's a protection against death & total permanent disability. There are stricter guidelines for insurance by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. -

a friend i had asked for my opinions about MLM... she was being offered a part time job - a quick way to earn money at your own time.
she jus haf to invest 300 to open an account in the company and ask another friend to invest 300, she'll earn commission from her friend's 300 ... she'll also earn abit of commission when her friend's friend puts in 300 dollars... the truth is they're buying a product at 300 dollars and recommending ur friends to buy so u'll earn some commission. the boss / some managers of tat company will help u wif ur family/ personal problems too.. so it would seem like the company is taking care of their investors

i was approached by a saleswoman from a magnetic bed company before and she told me the company needed part time admin... so ok i went up to their office for an interview... i ended up having lecturered about magnetic beds and health stuff for.. about 3 hrs! ( I aint kidding) its not that she wants to persuade me to buy 1 for myself.. she was trying to convince me to join their company sell the magnetic beds and haf a career of my own! until that time i didnt know much about MLM so i jus listened and say ok, uh uh and uhm.. but lucky me, eventually i escaped from their brainwashing session. my first encounter wif a MLM company

It made a spoof of MLMs.. really funny, just about the same stuff that those fellas will do to get clients..but of course with gags.. -

thats illegal in singapore, quickly report to the authorities or police.
cuz...no real products are being moved!

oh...electra, your 2nd example sound like a MLM company.
But one thing good about them is you learn how to say "NO", well isnt it?
so next time, you meet up with same type of people or your friends who want you to be his gf but you dun like him, or insurance agent, you would be able to say "NO" to them.
So, at least, thats one thing good about them. and those in DSAS, is that the membership is totally refundable. -

in a sense its like a regulatory body...or you can see them as the "legal" or legitimate or quality proven MLMs. lor -
What nightzip said is correct. So with the start of the new year, we should all be smarter & not fall under the spell of MLMs.
If you go to a MLM that say education is not important or they ask you to open an account, then LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.
Don't lose your hard earned money or savings to these conmen! -

anyway...not all MLM is bad leh...see how you see it lor. -
pyramid is where only the top guy has the product, whereas MLM, u sell the product to ppl and those ppl get more of those product to sell to other ppl...so everyone in mlm has the products in their hands...
and those magnetic beds are a fallacy!! is cheap ppl money one ! run away and dun buy!!! (pardon the english...brain not working too well) -

Is it good or bad you have to judge yourself, from this forum, obviously it is not that good about MLM. But other sources outside may not be more reliable than us.

Read this book to know the difference between pyramid and MLM. Don't listen to what your friends, friend's friends or whoever say.
