Certain songs give me goosebumps without fail.
For example songs by Evanescence - My Immortal, J Lo - All I have, etc...
I wonder why..... Does anyone has the same reaction? Or am I abnormal to react like this???

the song was written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails... who is known for "Industrial" music...
it is a slow grinding song about all the insecurities and regrets in his life...
it was done by Nine Inch Nails to amazing effect (you just have to see the music video to see the power of the song!)
then, there's Johnny Cash... he's THE country singer of all time! a man who is both in the Country and Rock N Roll hall of fames...
who took the song, poured his whole lifetime of regrets and experiences into the song...
and when Trent Reznor heard Johnny Cash sing this song, Reznor cried... because it was that powerful...

Mariah writes her own song relating to a specific phase in her life. I think that's the closest contact you can get to an artist from just her words and expressions through the songs.
Pardon me but i'm always fascinated by artistes who write their own songs. Not saying that the rest ain't good but i think you can express better in a song you know why you wrote it for.
And if i can relate to the expression, i get the goosebumps.
