Why become a vegetarian?

any reason why you all like to be a vegetarian? Religion, health, to slim down?

for me there is a story behind. I became a vegetarian when I was primary 4, by then, my whole family has became a vegetarian liao lor.
Strange things start to happen to me. Either I vomit or bite my tongue whenever I eat meat. Made me had a probia of meat.... -
Wah. Don't eat meat like the variety of food drop by more than half!!! -
hey sometimes i do want to become a vegetarian.. cos you know, when you see those pigs and cows being slaughtered, they struggle and squeal so much it breaks your heart.
i watched this taiwanese variety show about food, and in taiwan, they actually ask customers to catch their own chickens [in the restaurant's farm] and then the chicken would be brought to the kitchen. and the next thing that happens would be the chicken ending up on the dining table. that's so... inhumane.
and in order to rear animals for food, some animals are reared under such terrible and inhumane conditions, like overcrowding or feeding them with chemicals that kill them.
one more thing: in many parts of the world, people eat duck eggs with the foetuses inside i.e. the duckling has not yet fully developed and it's boiled and eaten!
sometimes i really can't bear to eat the meat on the table when i see it... -

That's the problem with education.

Heard that in Japan that there's this braised fish or what. Then the fish only cooked till the head only. SO while eating. The eyes still moving!!

true lah, that's one of the reasons why i continue to eat meat too. it's only natural for humans to eat meat... cos that's the food cycle.Originally posted by Parka: That's the problem with education.
