yah.. i think that's it.. it seemed very fake.. the Rony fella.. too much like the TV evangelists in the US.. it was a gut-feel thing.. that i must not trust him... that he was some kind of person who is trying to convince others with a fake show of sincerity...
at least that's my intuition telling me...
it was strange.. i left the church feeling very disturbed... They are too seasoned, that's why, I think. -
God speaks to us in many ways.. in the same way, we relate to the way how a service is conducted in different ways too..
as long as God is speaking to you in your personal walk that's what that matters -

Glad to see people discussing abt forgiveness. It is an issue we all, whether christians or not, struggle with. The fact that for all of us is that we do not need to seek forgiveness, we just have to acknowledge it because Jesus has already buried our sins, past, present and future, when he died and was buried and then we are raised as a new man like Him when He was resurrected 3 days later. We are forgiven, we just have to accept that fact.
But even if we are not toking about a religious context here, i think forigiveness is a social issue that humans seem not able to handle well. The issue of when to forgive? Do we forgive and forget? and What is to forgive in the first place? It is not something that can be easily described or taught by a few simple words. it is by forgiving that u learn to forgive. It is by being forgived u learn to forgive. Forgiveness brings forth a sense of contentment and release. We may not forget the hurt but we choose to move on, we choose to give the person, ourselvess another chance to do it right all over again. No one is perfect, but thru forgiving each others faults, we can spur each other to edge closer to perfection. -
yea...me too.....now i stick to catholic(othodox included),metodist and pysbertarian.Though i'm a catholic i prefer going to many religous events of different kinds to understand,respect and choose for myself.I find that alot of chirstans out there have totally no respect for other religons and that does distrub me quite abit like the service and New creation,Lighthouse and city harvast.Originally posted by the Bear:was pretty weird, yah?

i am a drifter too....used to be from Central Christian Church...used to be labelled a cult church but e pple there r friendly n very real....
went to a few churches after that....dun even remember their names now.... -

hmm...since a long time this thread had any new posts....why not we continue to share on occasions we chose to forgive someone or incidents we experienced people's and God's forgiveness?
I came from a single parent home and currently stay with my dad...people often asked me whether i hated my mum who left us years ago.....in normal self i would confess that in ways i do hate her...but I chose to forgive all that she has done and embrace her with the love of Christ. Forgiveness in my personal opinion is an act of opposition....opposing what the rest may think and go against the norm- to forgive to some seemed to be a looser, but in the eyes of God it is greatest gain!
It is through Christ that I am able to forgive....... -
Hey that's great man! Its not easy to forgive really. Especially when that someone has done wrong against you. But , forgiveness takes practice. No one learns how to forgive in an instant. Are you serving in church? We humans are in no position to judge who goes to heaven, to hell or where ever. By baptism, one does not necessarily go to heaven, i'm saying here that no one really knows our final destination. If we however allow ourselves to judge who goes to heaven or not; aren't we taking the place of Jesus who's the judge of the living and the dead?
