need info on Batam

  anyone here can give me some info about Batam.
  i'll be staying at Harris Resort this weekend.
  wanna do go-karting,jet-skiing,some shopping but all info about where to go and what to do is greatly appreciated.

  Stayed there b4...Since its a resort, u must be prepared for non-carpeted floors in the room..
  
  Go-karting?Ehz, maybe I'm still a stranger but I've never heard of any go-karting facilities in BTM..
  
  Sea-sports wise, I remember its cheaper than SG but it's still very expensive in my context!
  
  Shopping wise most people would go Nagoya, the "Takashimaya of Batam"...Although it's size may disappoint u..

  btw,if your ferry is from Singapore's World Trade Centre to BTM's Waterfront City, I remember there was a Shuttle Bus service provided by Harris to bring you all there...
  
  There will be a Harris Staff dressed with a badana and a sign board reading "Harris Resort"...
  
  Just approach them and show them the hotel voucher and they will lead u to the bus (a mini van actually)

  Ahaha....very laid back right?Water sports v expensive also right? Haiz, we tot we can go shopping but then their mechandise seems to be left over from our 80s...

  Batam also have great places to worship like for the chinese, there the big God of Fortune (Chai Shen Mieow)....

  ive been to batam for attachment before and i agree!! nothing to play and the shopping there sucks! the only place which looks clean is their casinos...
