  liking can be developed & by giving him a chance it means she has already started to like that guy.

   

  unless she just wants to make use or sponge on that guy. so that guy needs to discern why that chance was given to him.

   

  i tend to believe it is the former but of later the latter seems very possible, so beware.

  but what if the guy persistently woo the girl and keep showering her with concern and gifts over a long period of few years, will there be any girl weird enough to accept the guy on account that he's been good to her even though the girl dont like the guy?

  If the girl is still unattached then and reaching the age of 50, then yeah, maybe give the guy a chance.

  Ultimately, its still easier for girls to accept guys compared to guys accepting girls.
  
  Let's just say this girl fell in love with this guy but he dont like her. No matter how much she do, guys are guys - he'll never like that girl. So girls actually are in a more disadvantaged side.
  
  But if a guy fancies this girl, he'll do 101 ways to woo and grab the girl's heart; and possibilities of the girl accepting the guy is there. Thats why people says sincerity is important.. (probably for guys)
