What does it mean to "chase" a girl?

  Can someone bluntly point out what exactly does it mean to chase a girl?
  
  Scenario:
  
  1) Guy meet girl. Both become friends.
  
  2) Interaction increases. IM, phone cat, meet up in person etc.
  
  3) Guy gets interested in the girl. Girl shows interests too.
  
  4) Girl admits she likes the guy. BUT...still have her reservations abt being bf/gf.
  
  So now the guy has to "chase" her. But what should he do? Call/sms everyday? Any tricks of the trade too? Pls enlighten.

  tt is like harassing
  irritating her is the last thing u would wish to do...........
  
  u have to do it subtly and yet she notices ur little moves and eventually be touched
  
  chatting everyday is healthy, but not to overwhelm her or flood her sms inbox......
  msn would be better.......(less stress on the thumbs too)
  
  ask her how is her day, share with her ur "happenings" of the day, preferably something worthy of mention and not like "i saw someone stand 3 feet from the urinal today and try to aim into the urinal, so farnie, haha!"
  
  try to ask her out on weekends for dinner + movie.......no rules to say the guy pays for everything but well, a gentleman has to be a gentleman lah.......
  
  not all methods works on all girls
  dun rush into things, dun too kan cheong, dun too desperate......
