“MAMA, SAVE ME… PAPA, SAVE ME…”
Angeline Phang, an Indonesian baby girl, age 3, has suffered from liver failure and urgently needs a transplant. Her predicament was published in LIANHE WANBAO on 30 June 2002 (front page and page eight). Due to her ailment, sheÂ’s unable to be mouth fed and is on drip for the past months. Doctor predicts that she has only 2 months left unless a transplant is carried out asap.
Her parents have sold their house and all other valuables. They are in heavy debt to ferry her to the National University Hospital. Her mother is prepared to give part of her liver to save Angel but gave up due to the high operation cost. Being a foreigner, NUH is asking for $150,000 deposit before any operation is to be carried out. Presently, her daily ward charges is at couples of hundreds dollars and is only possible from the help of friends, relatives and various charitable sources.
At such tender age, Angel has undergone 3 major operations. She is a fighter and has extremely strong willed to live that surprises even doctors and nurses. The last admission, she vomited blood in the cab (almost half a shopping bag) and the taxi driver was so touched by her words that he charged no fare. “Papa, save me… Mama, save… Popo, save me… I don’t want to leave you yet… I will be good, I don’t want to go… I don’t want to be alone…” [/b]
Time is running out for this poor girl but donation is not forthcoming. This baby girl has a chance to live and she needs your help, your donation. Please forward AngelÂ’s predicament to as many people as possible.
