I keep hearing over Showbiz (Wan Quan Yu Le) that singers in Taiwan have to sell @ least 40000 copies of their album b4 they can have their next. Anyone knows why "40000"?
By the way, is our national treasure's (Yanzi lah!) new album available here yet? Hearsay it was released in Taiwan on the 5th.
I have not seen Yanzi's newest album yet.
About the 40,000 copies...well...that only affects the singers under the EMI/Virgin label. And the sales figures is just for taiwan only.
An example would be BAD, Liu Honghua. Unfortunately for the latter, her album is unable to hit the sales mark.
For Shunza, she needs to hit 40,000 in order to have the next album. If she does not hit 50,000, the company would have to retrench staff. But upon hitting 50,000, she would be able to have a concert or some sort.
I think the release date of Yanzi's START album is 10 Jan.
