  anybody know which is the best selling chinese album in Singapore tiz yr? Is it
  1) Harlem's tidal wave;
  2) F4's meteor rain; or
  3) Stefanie's kite

  Unlikely to be Harley's Tidal Wave.
  Yanzi has a good chance of topping the RIAS charts again.

  Results of top Chinese album sales in Taiwan for 2001:
  
  1. Kite (Sun Yanzi) - 330,000
  2. Fantasy (Jay Chou) - 300,000
  3. Ren Sheng Hai Hai (Mayday) - 280,000
  
  To put the above figures in perspective, the record for highest annual sales in Taiwan is more than 600,000 for Jacky Cheung's Farewell Kiss in 1993 (global sales to date for that album is 3 million copies).
  
  Taking into account the economic slump and rampant piracy, the 2001 figures are pretty respectable.... well done Yanzi and her production team.
  
  I believe Fantasy is more highly acclaimed by music critics, but our own tian hou's music and personality has wider appeal than Jay's. But whether Fantasy can sell better than Kite eventually remains to be seen as the figures are for 2001 sales only.
  
  Can Yanzi keep the Spore flag flying and repeat the feat in 2002?
